Would this work for you? RTÉ are bound to have it uploaded by 11PM our time. That'll be 5 hours after full-time.

I'm not sure. It comes up as "the content you are trying to access is not currently available for viewing, as it has expired, been removed, or is restricted to another territory."
I should be able to watch the Slovakia match from Friday on RTE player right? If it works then surely the Russia one will too? I can't seem to find the Slovakia game on there, can anyone help me out? Many, many thanks.
There's are ways around the geoblock. I'm not sure of the legality of that though.
I'm applying to become a police officer so I can't access any stuff illegally. However, if the content is not made commercially available in my country then surely they can't hold downloading it after the fact off a torrent site against me? The problem is, the match is available over a Setanta pub channel but I'd have to pay $20 (which isn't a big deal), and take the morning off work (which is a big deal), in order to see the match live. I'd gladly pay $100 to be able to watch it after the fact via video recording. So frustrating...
I don't think circumventing a geoblock is illegal for personal use.
I'll have a look into it then. Good idea. I don't see how what I'm trying to do is really immoral, for Christ's sake I'm just trying to watch a football match and not miss work at the same time. I'm sure they'll understand if questioned on it. I've downloaded torrents of the matches after the fact for years, I only stopped doing it recently due to this application.
I know Pirate Bay is blocked by Eircom in Ireland, for example. But it's all a bit pointless as I'm pretty sure someone intent on downloading a pirated copy of a movie or whatever wouldn't be too bothered about circumventing such a block by using a foreign proxy if they're OK with downloading a movie in the first place. And that's assuming they don't just access another of the multitude of torrent sites around the web in order to download whatever it is they're looking for. Anyway, I've digressed from a digression; in countries that have signed up to the 1996 WIPO Copyright Treaty (Canada and most, if not all, EU members are signatories), it is illegal to circumvent geoblocks, except for personal use, and apparently it is also illegal to publicise the existence of circumvention tools, so, seeing as you watching a game would be for personal rather than commercial use, I'm afraid I'll have to leave you to search for a way around RTÉ's geoblock on Google yourself...

Irish Torrents had the Irl Slovak game available about 24 hours after the game finished.
I don't think you would get any faster on a torrent site and definitely not from Pirate Bay.
It is easy to access stuff on RTE player if you know how...whether or not its legal, I don't know. I know you're on MaXxed and by the time you get home (11 Irish time as you say) the match will undoubtedly be up (you'll probably have multiple options), especially as it is the only match on in the slot it is. There is also a Russian site similar to MaXxed called RGFootball that will probably have it. I've heard ESPN3 can be accessed if you have an XBOX Online or whatever its called account (maybe not in Canada, I don't know), so maybe look in to that. Theres also a service called Fox Soccer TV available online where you can pay to get games on demand, but I don't know if they'd have it.
How do you register?

Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here
ESPN3 is widely available in Canada and a host of other countries. Every university in North America has it. And if you get your cable from any of these companies then you can get espn3 http://espn.go.com/espn3/affList
territory blocks are very easy to get past with a VPN. A decent enough one for watching video would only cost a few quid a month.
Never mind, it is available here, I just signed up and I'm watching the Slovakia match now. Great stuff, thanks to everybody here for helping me out. I just hope they have the Russia match up there by the time I get home from work, about four or five hours after full time.
Avoiding the results of football matches is a full-time job here in Canada. I can't tell you the number of times I've received text messages from well-meaning friends and colleagues after they see the Ireland result. Thankfully, I work in construction so have no access to a computer throughout the workday. I simply turn the phone off and avoid any and all websites until after I've watched the match.
I can't get Irish torrents to work if you mean

Grey text on a grey background - nice!!!
Maybe it only works in Ireland or maybe not not at all.
