I have to admit some of Justin Timberlake's songs are really good. Damn him. Think Sugababes have some pretty good tracks too.....

Am sorta on the Justin train too. Somewhat decent pop.

Also have always loved Nelly Furtado.

Though I can't stand 'Like a Bird' I always said I'd prefer if my hypothetical kid sister listened to NF than Britney, Pink, Aguilera, Avril etc...

...then she released the current album -which sounds very much like someone at the label said "Nelly love -time to start whippin' 'em out for the lads or you'll be dropping a division next time round".

Maneater and Promiscuous Girl sound like Janet Jackson B-sides.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"

The rest of the stuff on her Whoa Nelly album is great tho. Have lost my copy tho so havent listened in awhile.

I like the new stuff, great for drunken dancing in same vein as Sugababes in niteclub situation!

Yeah have to agree on that one, they just have some really simple catchy songs, I have all their albums since Dude Ranch up to their Greatest Hits

Yeah Im not gonna name much of what I listen to because yous would probably see about 90% of it as "shameful"

Go onto the Sligo metalfest thread and click on the link someone has posted for having a laugh at death metal. It's all pictures of black metal bands in corpsepaint - gurning, swinging axes, growling etc. I'm familiar with quite a few of those pictures as they are from the cd inlays of many an album in my collection. Now that would be a secret shame for many a poster on this site I'd wager.
Check out the photo of the fat guy wearing no top, arms outstretched, the mock rage bursting out of him. Thats from Immortal's 'at the heart of winter' album. Its quite good.

Nobody should be ashamed of liking Blink 182, wrote some brilliant pop songs and their last album was genuinely a big step forward for them. Wouldn't judge anybody too harsly for liking Wheatus either, first album wasn't any worse than decent though most of what followed on the other hand...

Back to the question at hand anyway...

a whole raft of Avril Lavigne's singles (though the last one is rubbish).

Anybody remember 'I Quit' by Hepburn? Much to my shame I still love it.

The situations vacant for me, ain't gonna go to work no more.
That was awful, even more so when played ten times over daily at your place of work along with

Have you ever been way down?
Have you ever been deep deep down?"

*cough* I got the first two albums together for like €9, as Jebus said only partially for the sleeve pics. The reason I only named some singles here is because that's all that I actually liked and by extension am deeply ashamed of.

Was watching a program on BBC Northern Ireland tonight about musicians from there who bcame famouse. Have the Undertones "Teenage Kicks" on the MP3 player at the moment and lately wondering if it's a bit pervy now that I have kids of my own. But having seen how young they were singing it I can understand it. Great band. It's a song that could transcend all generations. Still feel a bit iffy listening to it but great guitar in it.

If John Peel can have had it playing at his funeral then I reckon you have a few years yet to be listening to it.
