ahem...join the trust
i dont like the sound of it...hope its a big attendance...will be interesting to hear what its all about.
no but join the trust and we as supporters can organize ourselves into having a say
does anybody have any idea what this meeting is about exactly???new players or what??
sounding ominous. why such meeting now ? is AGM not couple weeks away ? shud be open to all supporters. will suggestions towards 'future direction' of club be listened to ? also why on a tuesday. wk'd would make better sense as i reckon plenty of exiles r meembers of club and 400 thing.
Surely its just a pre AGM strategy meeting, they have hired an manager who will need a few quid to bring in players he wants and the board have approved his full time strategy which is more expensive. I think they are going to announce some new plans and try to get some ideas etc.
Thats only my opinion though...
I would say your kinda close
Apparently the idea of the meeting is to gain feedback from the supporters to try and establish how best to run the club in the future, there seems to be some upset in the camp because everyone is not pulling their weight and with sales in season tickets down 70% and the 400 club not sold out the **** is hitting the fan!! Most of us on here are either members of the Trust/ supporters club, 400 club, season ticket holders. This is been billed as one of the most important meetings in the history of the club.
What questions would you like answered?
What suggestions do you have as to how things could be done better?
What ideas would you have for the future?
If we compile a list, bring it to the meeting next week and if the opportunity arises we can put some or all of our Questions to the board if not we can put them in writing.
I know some of you would like to see Cheerleaders (preferable pole-dancers) at every game, but try and keep this one serious and positive.

1st off
1. I would like to see better collaboration & communication with supporters through supporters clubs.
2. I would like to see openness and accountability in relation to all financial dealings of the club e.g. Weekly budgets, expenditure and revenue (incomings and out goings)
3. I would like to see more diverse representation on all committees.
4. I would like to see the club re-branded, marketed & made more appealing (make it fashionable).
5. I would like to see a fulltime administrator appointed to run the day to day affairs & promote the club.
I guess the answer to that will be with the appointment of a new promotions officer, (all clubs will be funded by the FAI for approx 50% of his/her salary). Their job will be to push out the boat to increase attendance etc.
I understand these new promotion officers will have to report to the FAI as well as to their appointed club. So, I would expect a lot more than what came about from the commercial manager.
I have scattered my dreams underneath your feet, tread carefully, cos it's my dreams you walk on.
btw.. how are they gonna 2007 season ticket holders for id if they dont even have a ticket yet?
dont they have a token/reciept??
i have a €90 gift voucher at the moment thats all
Your missing my point SligoBrewer, the club are excluding the Trust and Dublin supporters clubs as well as the regular Saturday night fan by not allowing them speak at the meeting and/or another forum for all fans to put their ideas forward.
We shouldn't have to organsie ourselves any higher a degree than a Trust and supporters club for the Club to allow us a say in OUR club.
If the club are looking for ideas, should they not have an open meeting where anybody can attend? People who dont frequent the showgrounds might pop along and tell the board why they dont and the club could work off of that and maybe bring in some new support, something every club needs?
