Just three days after capturing the inaugural First Division Cup, Finn Harps take on Cork City in the quarter final of the FAI Carlsberg Cup in Ballybofey on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
Jonathan Speak is confident his side can upset the side currently riding high in the Premier Division.
However, he will have to plan without Tom Mohan, who is ruled out with a knee problem, while Kevin McHugh looks set to miss out with an ankle injury.
Jonathon Minnock, who missed last Saturday night’s win away to Dublin City with a suspected broken rib, could be fit to resume.
Cork will be without long term absentees Declan Daly and Conor O’Grady, though former Harps favourite, James Mulligan could be on the bench as he recovers from a groin problem.
Worryingly for Liam Murphy’s side is the prospect of the absence of John O’Flynn. Signed from Peterborough during the close season, he has notched 11 goals in nine outings for his home town side, but is struggling to be fit after being forced off against Bohs last weekend.
Murphy, who was assistant to Dave Barry when the sides last met in the cup, is well aware of the Harps threat.
“They beat us when we last met in the FAI Cup so they’ll be up for it,” he warned.
