    Cheltenham Festival

Any tips , any whispers , anyone going , anyone have spare tickets for Gold Cup day (Im there for wednesday and thursday)

Im looking to pile on the Bally in the bumper (with a saver on Shady Willow if it runs).

Fancy Royal Auclair in the Gold Cup ew - cant have Beef or Salmon (even though I know one of the owners and he tells me BOS will win it)

    Any views

You won't have a problem getting a ticket for the Friday but its from the touts outside the Track I'm Afraid.Because there is usually so many spares (unwanted Corporate ones) the mark up is not as much as you'd be stung for at a Football game.

If My way de solzen runs in the World Hurdle he's a good e.w bet.
In the Gold Cup Iris's Gift e.w. & Mister Hight in the Triumph are my fancies atm.

The weather is a bit up in the air so I'll leave it off a little longer. I have a couple of horses I'll post here in a few days, nothing spectacular just some with a good shout of winning.

Im backing Accordion Etoile in the Arkle if its anything better than soft, its won twice around there already once each over fences & hurdles. It ran well over fences in Punchestown a couple of weeks ago and was just beaten by Central House and Jim, neither of which is in the Arkle so its main threat will be Racing Demon. Also Jim might be worth an E/W shout in the Champions Chase if it goes, its around 40/1 at the moment.

The opinions expressed above are not those of my family, my church or myself,
but they are the opinions of Humphrey Bogart as revealed to me through the medium of my pet hamster, Dr.Samuel L. Jackson

Likewise. My mate was in the Silver Springs hotel the other night when Ruby Walsh, Barry Geraghty, Henrietta Knight etc were there to give their tips and opinions on Cheltenham.

He gave me all that they'd mentioned and I wrote them down at home so I'll let you know probably on Monday.

The amount of scruffy pub-regulars i know in the bank withdrawing upwards of €1000 today was very sad and worrying.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Iris's Gift is my tip for the Gold Cup. If she can stay on her feet she's got a great chance for me at about 20/1. not sure of those odds but there or there abouts.

    Here's one for each day:

Tuesday: SI Cross Country Steeplechase - Buailtes and Fadas (6/1)
Wednesday: Coral Cup Hurdle - No Where to Hyde (9/1)
Thursday: Ryanair Steeplechase - Hi Cloy (8/1)
Friday: Triumph Hurdle - Afsoun (6/1)

Odds of 6995 to 1 for a yankee!

    Good luck!

each way at that odds yes. I also like the chances of Fota Island in the Queen Mother about 5or6/1 I should think.

First time in 9 years I won't be on the Cotswolds for the racing. Don't know what I'll do with myself.

For the record I'd also like the Yankee Superhoops highlights and Fota Island for me is also a great hope.

Faasel in the Champion Hurdle is a good e/w bet.
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

Foreman in the Arkle Chase, 7/1 now but will maybe go off at 5s. Could even be favourite if people get on him.
