Red Mist - a fans book on the World Cup was good but I also liked the fans books from Euro88 (class!) and Italia90 "we were there". Then the Jack Charlton WC Diaries were great - and the 1990 one my favourite.
Lads what books would you recommend on the irish team and/or players from the Jack and Mick eras? Paul McGraths and Cascarino's are two that immediately spring to mind. Doesn't have to be biography, anything really with well told anecdotes rather than just a simple football history.
Cheers.

It documents a particularly novel method of relieving pressure on a crushed and infected injury to the toenail on one's big toe while at an international football tournament where you're wary of taking any medication whatsoever lest the drug testers find something therein they don't like.
Said tale involves cigarette lighters, sewing needles and all colours of the rainbow puss. lovely.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
