    Flying to Billund

There's a thing a group of us do for a holiday every month or so. We wait for a Ryanair 1c sale, and book to wherever is cheapest and where the most people haven't been before.
So far, this has worked grand. We've went to Paris, Brussels, Valencia and Düsseldorf amongst others.
However, our fool-proof plan has come crashing down with a bang.

We've booked on one of Ryanair's 1c flights to Billund. Were heading at the end of next month for a couple of nights.

I know a few people used the airport before for the friendly match against Denmark in Århus a few years back, and I've found this thread too: http://foot.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=86024

Since Billund has a population of 6,000, I don't think we'll be staying there. So, basically looking for suggestions on where to go? Vejle, Kolding, Esbjerg, Århus, Odense, or somewhere else?

I didn't think that Odense was up to much. OB are worth seeing play, great support for them, and some decent football, but while the town is fair enough in it's centre, it's not as nice as I thought Århus was.

Does Billund not have the airport chiefly for Legoland? There should be a fair bit of accomodation on the back of that, surely?
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Anywhere but Billund spent 2 days there with work -it is dull.

Airport is pretty modern, ex luftwaffe base we were told

Scottish bar in the town - Highlander ? found it eventully at 10.30 it was closing/closed and didnt seem to bothered about taking our companys money (expenses)

Legoland isnt too bad to kill an afternoon but thats about it. They do sell beer though.

Had a meal a few beers in Hotel Legoland which wasnt too bad but usually full of brits and their bratty kids

    To summarise - Its dull

Was in Odense with pats a couple of years ago. Thought it was nice enough. Small, but a fair amont of bars and clubs. Its a university town so the midweek nighttlife is OK (even if some close early enough)

Its about 40 mins-1 hour from Billund
