Official colour of the country is historically blue

nice jersey...not too sure about the retro tracksuit tops!!
Why did we change to green in the first place? Seems a bit strange that NornIron and ROI both started off wearing blue and both changed to green in or arond the same time. Must be a good reason for it. But it just wouldn't be Ireland if we wore blue, that seems as odd to me as White socks...
Weaseling out of things is important to learn, it's what seperates us from the animals!! Well... except for the weasel.
Hmmm... well ya see that's not strictly true.
The IFA started off wearing blue and due to a clash with another home nation (Scotland) they chose to wear green going forward sometime in the 1880/90's. In 1922 when the FAI was formed (sigh) they continued on using green as the shirt colour to match the then All-Ireland Association's shirts.
FAI never wore blue. Though, I do have a navy training jersey from ca. 2001 which is exactly like the WC2002 shirt except with whit under the arms.
Ah very simlar scenario to the one that existed with the PFJ and the JPF.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
The kit is class. I'll definately shell out on it, and I haven't bought one since the 2002 World Cup. The simple green and white looks really well, and its the proper shade of green for an Ireland jersey.
Did anyone else do a double take on the guy modelling it to the squad. I was only half looking and I thought Clinton Morrison had bluffed his way in!
Bring Back Belfast Celtic F.C.
