Heard it mentioned on the radio the other day that he was invited to play drums before the arrival of Mick Fleetwood.
Maybe he thought they were dishing out anti-Irish slurs when they said to him "Fancy playing drums with our band Mac?"
Can anyone verify that Christy Hennessy was asked to join Fleetwood Mac
before they became popular?
I've been told this is true but find it hard to believe...
Whats that comin' over the hill

" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
Well if he was a drummer, then it could be possible. There may have been lots of auditions etc. He was the right age profile to have been old enough to audition for the Mac back in the day. Significantly he was also based in the London area at the time.
Peter Green lead singer/guitarist ( he wrote Albatross) was the founder of the band. It was only when John McVie was the established bass player and Mick Fleetwood the established drummer that the band took on the name Fleetwood Mac. Early on they were known locally as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.
