The The, The Band, and A are shamefully bad, lazy band names in my opinion. Crazy Penis is a shamefully vulgar name, as is The F'uck Buttons (the latter are excellent mind you). Oh and Basement Jaxx conjures shamefully rancid images!

If you think that The Band is a lazy name , i suspect you may be quiet young and don't the history behind it... if you're over 40 then you simply don't know your music history...suggest you check out a book called " Accross the great divide" , which IMO not only tells the story of the members of The Band and how the name came about but is also one of the best histories of the Woodstock (not the festival but the town and it's inhabitants)/Dylan/60's era

I agree. The hype regarding them has gone too far. 'Thats Not My Name' the most annoying single this year. 'Shut Up and Let Me Go' is possibly worse.
