    Gio goes to........Limerick

The lunch time radio news reports Trappatoni is on his way to Limerick for a fund raiser. The club is to revert to the name of Limerick FC from next season.

Cue a host of jokes about their 37 fans being gutted & how an Italian would be right at home in a city with a reputation and a minister for guns.

To be fair I'm delighted for them & the CEO of the FAI gets some of the credit at least...like it or not.

Wonder how much Danny held out for for the rights to the name. I hear he's trying to get back into LoI through Kildare County so maybe he's learned that he has to play ball with the FAI. Good going getting Trapatonni down for a fundraiser though

So Delaney's effort to get rid of the old limerick will now be complete.

The Limerick club is dead. All hail the Limerick club....

Each one funnier than the last no doubt.

In fairness to Mr. Drew the sum was a bit of a pittance by all accounts.

Was more Mr. Drew than the "old limerick" as such.

Bit of a coup there. Fair play, I hope they make a mint out of it.
The Dunphy and Houghton night did serious business for us at the weekend by all accounts, someone like Trap should easily do the same for Limerick.

Why would people on here not like it? It'd just mean they'd have to admit they were wrong. Ah.

I know. But I suppose that is the name that the majority of Limerick fans can relate to and I think dropping the 37 is a good idea. I never expected it to happen this soon though.
