Connacht Senior Cup 2007/08

Is anyone taking this competition seriously or is it just another cup to clutter up the fixture lists?
Will any of the Junior Clubs involved spring a suprise and challenge the sides Galway Utd & Sligo Rovers put out, which will undoubtedly be Under 21 sides ?

id be suprised if cooky even knows its on. im sure galway wont be too different. will be just u21 sides

The GUFC website tells me that Galway United beat Abbey United 4-2 in Terryland Park last week to advance to the final of the Connacht Senior Cup. What's the Connacht Senior Cup and who else is playing in it?

It was revived this year and featured the top 2 Junior teams from each District League in the province last season, plus Galway United and Sligo Rovers.
Hasn't really set the world alight as a few teams gave walkovers and Galway Utd used their U-21 side. Mervue Utd play Ballinasloe Town in the other semi this Sunday in Mervue at 2pm.
