    Alan Reynolds

Now that he is a free agent, would any club take the chance to sign him??

The only ability he has is to kick/elbow/bite oppostion players. League would be a better place if he retired

In his day one of the best midfielders in the league. Even though those days well behind him he dominated a Pats-Waterford game last year. Reckon he could still do a job for many a team in the league.

Hateable figure I'll grant you but anyone who doesn't think he can play football is an idiot

well said Dodge. Away to UCD last year. Rogers (??) gets injured. Think it was 1-1 at the time. Rennie comes on and absolutely ran the show. Got the ball down and drove the team on. Kearney scores a dodgy winner and we get a win all due to him. I;d have him back in a flash

Would love him at Shels at the minute!

    Reminds of an anecdote:

Last summer whilst he was still a Shels player I was in France and one evening walking by me was Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard, I stopped him and got a photo with him and his autograph. Now I'd had a few drinks and I wanted to tell Frank to sign someone from the LOI.

For whatever reason Al Reynolds was the only player I could think of. I told him that he was like an undiscovered Roy Keane. Then a few weeks later he joined Waterford. How an earth did they beat Barcelona in a bidding war? True Story (Except the bidding war bit, probably)

I'm getting this mental picture of Frank thinking "Hhmmm. Just what we need to retain the European cup this year". I have to admit, I didn't think that Alan Reynolds signing for Waterford would cost Barca the league and the European cup!

HHHmmmm interesting if he has indeed signed for Rovers.

Scully could alternate him and Danny O'Connor, when ones out suspended, he puts the other in too kick lumps out of the opposition ...

    ;-)
