At least you're being pragmatic.
Reminds me of some of the talk around Ray Houghton prior to WC94. Didn't work out too badly against Italy!
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
I think Doyle has produced in the majority of his recent games. Thinking Oman, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Kazakhstan.
Granted the opposition has been pretty poor in some of these games but you can only play what's in front of you.
Apparently Roy Keane and McGeady have kissed and made up http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-34777093.html
I was surprised at Keane's attack on McGeady. Has he not been watching him for the past 6 months or longer? Did he suddenly expect him to turn on the magic which has been missing for quite a while now, not only in blue but also in green? Bizarre.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
I think he might have been more critical of his defensive work off the ball. Christie looked heavily exposed at times.
"He can do a lot better but maybe that's the story of Aiden's career".
Don't think it was just about tracking back. Very harsh words and not the stuff that inspires a player low on confidence at the moment.

No squad number for McGeady at Everton in 16/17.
FYI Gibbo got #4, McCarthy #16 and Coleman #23.
Also, Everton signed Idrissa Gueye from Aston Villa today - a DM. Lots of competition for 1-2 places in that position with Gueye, Barry, Besic, Gibson, Cleverly all providing stiff competition for McCarthy. If any of the other rumoured midfield signings come off (Carvalho, Witsel), it will be curtains for a few of them.

McGeady to Dundalk...
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
It would be interesting, if only to see how O'Neill would react and get around selecting him or not selecting him. It would be a tough one for him to come out of unscathed - O'Neill I mean.

Nice play to set up Preston's second goal at the weekend.
Made the championship team of the week
Some nice play by Cunningham in there too. I can't figure out why he's not involved with the senior squad. It would knock the talk of Robbie Brady the lb on the head.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
Was at the Owls v Preston game. McGeady started but sad to say he was totally anonymous and subbed at half time. Cunningham was stretched a few times in defence but when Wednesday were down to 10 men he made some great runs down the left with excellent and dangerous crosses in to the box. Westwood had a competent game,
That's McGeady I suppose. But in the few minutes he was on the pitch in Lille and also in Vienna he was really important. In the former, his carry through the middle led to the goal. None of our CMs carry the ball forward, even though it's a simple requisite of being a footballer in my opinion, and in Vienna when we just needed someone to kill valuable seconds while keeping the ball he did just that. It just shows how football is far from a science. He can be anonymous in the Championship yet vitally important at international level, if even only for a few minutes.
