    Shels are stumbling along ??
I hate to see what might have happened had Shels actually thought about what they were doing!!

Read the article from Andy O'Callaghan today.

At least he talks some sense that the rest you you dont.

The two cases are very very different and if you dont see that then your clueless.
stumbling along off the pitch. you will end up in santry by accident, not design.

the future of SFC is in the hands of property men, not yourselves. thats stumbling along

    Your wrong again, as usual.
The future of Shels is very much in the hands of Shels at the moment.

    Santry by accident??
No it wasnt, It wasnt the top choice but you cant have everything you wish for.

If it was that easy to end up in a ground by accident you wouldnt still be homeless after all these years.

Can you remind me who held the lease on Tolka Park and how long it was for?
If the deal in Santry betters this then we have done well.

I never said Shels were buying Morton Stadium!!

Do you think shels own Tolka

higgins, stop arguing for the sake of it.

you are leaving tolka because you are being told to by property developers.

santry is the only option you have left after a lengthy list of stadia and locations fell through.

you had a long term lease on an all seater stadium with a bar within walking distance of the city centre.

you are now facing a move to a smaller suburban venue that you will be secondary tenants and have less say in its running. with no bar or office space.

this is not progress or some master plan olly hatched. its a **** up.

And a moment of clairty ensues all....

Does this mean that Shels can count him as a celebrity on the other thread? Irish name and all.

I'm not taking the **** here, so please no knee jerk defensive reactions.

I seem to remember, maybe incorrectly, that Rovers were informed that Morton was not good enough to get an A license when they were considering moving there for a short term. Has it been massively improved. Not small improvements but something significant. If not how will Shells hope to get a license there.

the same way every other league team gets one, by lying to the licence committee, producing false accounts and very imaginative budgets

According to the above link only a bit of work was required but shamrock rovers played their 2005 season in Dalymount (i think shamrock rover lads?) and this season in Tolka so Morton must not be up to standard if they were originally hoping to play there or was there was some issue between them and Fingal County Council about getting it up to standard?.

But over 500,000e has been spent on Morton stadium since 1998 so surely it can't be too far of the required standards?

500k in 8 years is feck all. Think about any decent facility you'd need to spend at least 60% of that to stand still, Its still a kip

    I agree with you

    Going from thishttp://http://www.ifgrounds.com/shelbourne.html

    To this:
    http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium...n_morton.shtml

Morton is a 'bit' of a step down and alot of work is needed but still should be in good enough condition for Eircom league football

    .

So would that also mean that any european games would have to be played at an alternative venue like what Drogheda are doing at the moment?
