700 mentioned on the Dundalk forum for their first league match back in Oriel (v. Limerick last week)
Rules are the lower of two reasonably thought out figures to counter overestimation, but in that game and overall, so 1100 it is. Plus, some of Partizan's figures have been questioned by away fans before, so I'm happy to round down here.Originally Posted by trevy

I didnt think there was that many at the Rovers game. I would have said closer to 2000 if even.

How the hell do you know, were you at the game by any chance. My estimation is 13-1400 tops.Originally Posted by pineapple stu

Serious underestimation on your part. And anyway who has every questioned my attendance figures only Trevy. Cop yourself on.
Less of the hissy fit, Partizan.
Go back through your estimates for this thread and they've all been shot down by various people. You have 3000 at Waterford-Harps, including 1600 people standing around the pitch, where three Waterford fans and one Harps fan all said 2000. You have 3500 at Waterford-Cork; a Waterford fan and a Cork fan both disagree, saying 2300-2500. You have 5500 for Cork-Waterford compared to the official figure of 3159. You mentioned 1900 at Waterford-Rovers, while Rovers fans say 1500 absolute tops.
I mentioned at the start of the thread that I will always take the lower of two reasonable figures to avoid over-statement of figures. In light of the above as well, I don't see how you can have any grounds for complaint if I overlook your figure in favour of another one from someone who was there. I am not taking his figure as gospel - though it seems you want me to take yours as gospel for no stated reason.
First off, I admit the first Waterford - Harps game was wrong and I over estimated the size of the crowd for the Cork match in the RSC but I stand by the others.Originally Posted by pineapple stu
The X was packed for the last Munster Derby and my figure of 5500 was agreed with by several Cork fans I met at the match. The St Annes end was fairly full and overall, the attendance was well up on last year's encounter.
As for last Friday's game, wnyone who said there was only 1100 there are way off. Even Martin Colbert, WUFC only remaining director, I hasten to add complemented the attendance the following morning on WLR saying that they were up on the previous games and that the Club now had some money in the coffers to pay the backlog in wages for the previous 2 weeks.
Go figure.
agree with 2000. about 450 shels.little over 1500 HoopsOriginally Posted by higgins

i'd say 450+ at athlone-rovers on friday. 3:1 in favour of rovers at least
Not a chance it was that low pineapple stu - 1,200 was my estimate at the match as was others on the dundalktalk website and people I was with at the match. It was definately at least 1,000.Originally Posted by pineapple stu

Thought Pat's gave out official attendances these days but I didn't hear one last week - would guess under 2,000 - say 1,800?
That game was slow getting the crowd in, there was at least 700 in the stand alone. I reckon there was about 1200 in total at this. Will do a head count at the Monaghan game tomorrow at start of second half to see.Originally Posted by pineapple stu
Cobh Ramblers v Dundalk (around 250), poor crowd but a 2pm kick off made sure of that.

Updated. Have put Pat's-Bohs in at 1800 and upped Dundalk-Limerick to 1200 as three seems to be agreement on that. The thread on the forum started off with a crowd of 200, so it's possible the 700 was from shortly before kick-off.
DFC v Mons last night in Oriel was a lot less than last week. 850 give or take was my count for it.
Yeah 850 is my estimate too.Originally Posted by Duffman
