I think we could be caught out here to be honest if we dont take it seriously .... Talking to some of the players and they have sized them up and might think it is an easy run out for them ...... they'd want a serious rethink though.
Just checked the NEC website.
Johan Neeskens of 1974 World Cup final blast first minute penalty right down the middle fame is the NEC coach!
Get your autograph books out.
I'd say NEC will be more up for it than Malmo. Playing in europe is a big deal for NEC.
Their stadium seems nice, all seater 14,000. Seems to be in the middle of a forest!

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
One thing in our favour is that their season is over for about 6 weeks now so they must be rusty.
Winning games does wonders for a teams confidence so lets not knock a bit of cockyness on our part.......it's not often an Irish Club gets to be in such a situation.
BTW great photo of ye all in the Echo tonight........Face is that a pint I saw in your hand ...... at the game ....... tut, tut.
Irish by birth,
Cork by the grace of God.

I thought it , looked like u were trying to start on someone Face.
As for this game, one thing City wont have this time is the surprise value. NEC will have seen us at least once, and will know that they cant under value us.
Tricky one to call this. Some are telling me that NEC are a very skillful, fast side, and that the Dutch league is quite strong.
Others say that there is just Ajax, Feyenoord & PSV, with maybe one or two others there or there abouts, with the remainder being very poor.
Is anyone here in a position here to give us an un biased evaluation of our chances???
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.
Nah biy .... just singing and reaching for a beer !!Originally Posted by Gary

Have watched Eurogoals for years and used to watch Dutch highlights ona channel that went belly-up.
Its a good league. Although you have the top three (with a couple of others catching up) the standard of the restbisnt too bad. I reckon they'll be a small bit better than Malmo
I think the same, hopefully the fact that they're only back in preseason with a week to ten days and will have only played two friendlies by the time we arrive will help us out.Originally Posted by eoinh

Hopefully that will be the case but everyone of the fans i've met seem to think we'll breeze it .... The Dutch League is far better than the Swedish and i'd nearly put money that we'll get caught on the hop.Originally Posted by tiktok
It is up to the players really ...... it is a good way of seeing how good we actually are.
To get a result in this round would be good alright .... if they get an away goal then we might have in with a shout ...... but if it was 3:1 away ...... how do you think we'd play at the cross.
Dont like to get over confident ...... it wasn't so long ago when .......
