Not good for dundalk with the wafer thin squad they have left at the moment.
From Extratime: Says "personal reasons".
Very strange one mid way through the season.

He took that Rico snub a bit too personally I fancy.
Is he long term injured? I'd hate to think it's anything more than that - and don't want to hear any conspiracies as he seems a decent sort.
He started his own coaching school and wants to concentrate on that. Could be other reasons that we don't know about obviously.

could have finished out the season you would think..
Strange that he's quit mid-season, after playing 90 minutes in Galway and scoring with his last touch. Good luck to him. Leaves us with an even smaller, weaker squad though!
It would certainly have been preferable if he had finished out the season - but he contributed a lot to Dundalk, particularly to the strong early season form.
Neale obviously has strong personal reasons for retiring at this stage, and by doing this now in the July window is also allowing Ian Foster to free up some budget for new signings. Matthew Tipton is the direct replacement and at least one more is expected.
A decent guy and a tremendously skillful player.
will he be sticking around ireland now i wonder or going back to the uk?
Joining Rovers now apparently!
Cant see it happening though.
Cumann Peile Dún Dealgan - Champions 2015 (too many accolades to be typing)
Termonbarry Athletic TID!
True
In fairness to the guy it was his first game, but sometimes you can tell after 5 minutes whether a fella is gonna cut it or not.
But i could be totally wrong.
In general I was surprised by Dundalk, there was very little fight in them which is unusual for a Dundalk team.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
He'd have to buy out his contract anyway if he did join another club.
It was canceled on the understanding that he was retiring. Joining another club so soon would indicate that he had dissolved the contract by deception and Dundalk would have an easy ride of suing him for the full value of the contract (probably only a couple of grand), or else they'd just insist they own his registration and that he can't sign for another club.
Either way, he'd have to be pretty stupid to try it.
If Fenn went to Shams it would open up a can of worms that i dont believe has been seen in LOI contractual problems before??
I cant see it happening though.
