Some interesting games. Conn rangers have the best oppourtunity for a upset. While the Fahy and S & F games could be interesting. Westport game could be close enough if they take it likely.

With Wesport and Ballina gone that cup is there for the taking. Which team has the balls to step up to the plate and win it.

    Ballyhaunis Town 1 - 2 Ballinrobe Town

Was impressed with Ballyhaunis. They really put it up to us in the first half going into half time 1-0 up. We got our game going in the second half and could and maybe should have won by more. Expect to see Ballyhaunis climb the tables in the coming seasons. Great support also for them, must have been 100 people at the match last night.

Interesting results last night alright. Possible Favourites... Fahy, S &F... Ballinrobe Town,!!!

Straide & Foxford 5-1 Moy Villa

    Paul Fitspatrick (3), Johnney J (1), Michael Costello (1)

Moy Villa started the game 100 miles an hour and it took 10-15 min for s'nf to get playing, johnney jordan ran on to a through ball to chip the keeper from 22 yards a finish which was made look simple.S'nF then got a second from a corner kick by Paul Fitz which found Cos at the back post he headed past the keeper to make it 2-0 with around 25 mins played..Moy Villa got back into the game when they gained posession a bit to easy outside snf area and the number 6 hit a fierce shot into top corner of flatleys net.10 mins later Snf were awarded a penalty when a shot was blocked with a hand, Paul Fits hit top left corner to make it 3-1 at the break.Second half was a lot better football wise for Snf, gerry gaughan dominated midfield and was involved in final 2 goals linking well with johnney jordan and paul fits up front he was threading balls over the top and through the middle, fits ran on to a through ball and chipped kepper from 25 yards , the final goal was nearly walked into net with jolrdan setting up gerry only for ball to run 2 far past post...gerry pulled it back to fitz who finished from 3 yards... tough game at home v Ballyglass in next round.... mayo cup is up for grabs with the big teams knocked out...

Fahy would have to be happiest with draw, but it is still going to be tough game. You really could not call the other games, maybe home advantage will be the deciding factor.

I'd fancy all three Super League teams to make the semis, with Ballinrobe and Partry having a good close high-scoring game. After that it's anyones.

Im not sure, but I think the GOOD teams had a chance as well?? Every team that got this far did so on their own merrit and it's not their fault that the GOOD teams failed!!

    S n F's to loose I think

I agree on the first point, all the teams in Mayo had their chance. Also, does leftoutside only think the top few teams in the Super league are any good out of 50 or so teams in Mayo?

Not sure how it's S+F's to lose though, they are a point behind Fahy in the table and Fahy beat them convincingly last time they met. I would personally put S+F as slight favourites for the cup but to say it's theirs to lose is a bit harsh in my opinion.

What I don't understand was the intro to the cup draw on MWR on Thursday. JD said something like
"For people in the know in the county, Glenhest are favourites for the cup."

All credit to Glenhest for beating Ballina Town (Wes B and Bangor B) but I don't really think it makes them favourites, especially as they are the lowest placed league team left. Maybe it was some joke I didn't get.
