At least the rovers fans will save time and money making Keane out banners. Just stick an e on the end
Surely one Kean(e) was enough for Blackburn...

The Kean is dead!
Long Live the KEANE!
Oh well seems he has chickened out.
Him and Fergie strike me as a right pair of hypocrites now slagging each other off. About how 'fierce' the other was.
And bullies too.

The John O'Shea thing was no secret to United fans. Keane always had the aura of a drill sergeant, trying to whip the younger guys into shape through sheer aggression and intimidation. Eventually, with his own deficiencies becoming more and more acute, he went too far with the young lads in the team at that time. They went on to become better players after Keane left (especially Fletcher), and I'd agree there was a connection there, to an extent anyway.
I'm seeing all of these "revelations" from Ferguson described as "savage" and "explosive" attacks, but they look like nothing of the sort to me. Just telling it like it was, and like most people knew already.

I think he's gone over the top in places, Keane, Beckham even Gerrard (saying he's not top player but then saying he tried to sign him). The best example is with Owen Hargreaves. He's said he was his worst signing and not motivated at all, personally I don't think they've looked that solid in central midfield since he got injured. As for him being the worst signing, well it doesnt compare to some of dross that he signed like Massimo Taibi, William Prunier, Ralf Milne, Gabriel Overran, Djemba-Djemba, Kleberson, Dong Fangzhun, Bellion, Bébé. Or if you factor in cost of the transfer fee was he worse than Veron or Berbatov?
Hargreaves (allegedly) had major attitude problems during his extended recovery process, which might be the provoking factor in that statement. When he went off injured a few minutes into his return game in 2008 Ferguson got very ****ed off, started questioning his mental state. The fact that he signed with City after United finally gave up on financing his recovery (which he then complained about) probably also bites.
Hargreaves was good, but never a "top, top" player as Ferguson likes to put it when discussing others. Of course those injury problems were considerable, he's just one of those players who could have made a much bigger impact at United and never got the chance.

Hargreaves always looked fully motivated on the pitch anyway. He was excellent when he played in that 2007/08 season, very versatile, and I don't think they won have won the Champions League without him personally. I remember Ferguson making some comment alright that he wasn't brave enough to make the step back from injury, or something to that effect, which seemed harsh.*
Keane & Ferguson are cut from the same cloth really... they're both as guilty as each other when it comes to hypocrisy.
Keane's United dressing room antics from ten years ago should be irrelevant when/if being considered for the Ireland job I think. That's not to say I'd like him to get it.
*Edit - only saw NFB's post afterwards.
Think I just said that DL...
As in the middle paragraph.
I missed that too![]()

Roy's ma wades in to defend her boy: http://balls.ie/football/roy-keane-mother-ferguson/
When you come at Roy Keane beware the wrath of his mother. She is in the Irish Sun today giving out stink about Alex Ferguson’s chapter on Roy in his new autobiography.
‘God Almighty, I can’t believe Sir Alex would say such things about Roy. I just can’t believe it. I would never have thought he would do something like this,’ she said in response to Ferguson scathing words about Keane’s Manchester United departure and managerial career.
‘He’s our son and he has a wife and children and it’s not nice for any of us to be hearing someone run a loved one down like that … It’s all very nasty what he said. It’s nasty really. It’s terrible and I’m very upset.’
Keane may have shown thick skin on ITV last night but his mother Marie seems to feel very betrayed, considering their close relationship with Ferguson down through the years. ‘Myself and Mossie have met him numerous times. He was always very nice and courteous to us … When I was sick he sent me flowers and when Mossie was in hospital he sent him a basket of fruit.’
Maybe Ferguson’s next public appearance will be him and Marie going one-on-one in the octagon.
Truth hurts.
