Here's the manual. It's in PDF format. Try taking out the memory card and putting it back in?
Edit. Page 120 may fix your problem.
Until I can find the bloody manual, in the meantime am wondering if someone could tell me what button I'm not pressing!
Might be specific to the camera actually, so its a Finepix S 5800, and basically when I turn it on now I'm informed that the images are being recorded to internal memory, there's an IN symbol constantly on the screen, and I get about 10 photos before it tells me that the memory is full and I have to dump the contents to my computer, which is next to useless! (Before I'd get 60, 70, 80 a time, never maxed out in other words)
Looks like a setting has been changed somewhere, but how? And more importantly, how can it be changed back?!
Any help greatly appreciated!

Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.
Right, four things I've learned recently:
One, I can now reformat my camera's internal memory if ever needed.
Two, never give a lend of the camera to anyone.
Three, if you can't avoid two, always check the memory card is fully slotted into it's place afterwards.
Four, bring all of my problems to Strangeirish in future!
Ta very much SI!

You're welcome!

You should always reformat both internal and external memory after every shoot
Remember that, borrowers don't give a toss about your investment. Two, never give a lend of the camera to anyone.
Always avoid lending

5. Take a photo of business card and leave it on the camera as image 1, just in case.
Lost my camera in the Phoenix Park last month, kicking myself I didn't do this.
It was when the Phoenix Park Motor Races was on. If it hasn't been run over by a lawnmower, it's well forked by the rain. Thanks anyway.
Ah in fairness, it wasn't as reckless as that sounds above, was just that something got pressed that shouldn't have.
In actual fact it was lent to take a pic that I'll be using shortly, but didn't have time to take myself, at the time. If I didn't lend I wouldn't have it now.
