Obama moves to distance himself from former pastor

from the New York times :At a news conference here, Mr. Obama denounced remarks Mr. Wright made in a series of televised appearances over the last several days. In the appearances, Mr. Wright has suggested that the United States was attacked because it engaged in terrorism on other people and that the government was capable of having used the AIDS virus to commit genocide against minorities. His remarks also cast Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, in a positive light.

Sounds like Obama was associating himself with some Whacky individuals indeed. Imagine the Idea that America could be involved in terrorism
although I think the AIDS theory is a little far fetched...they'd be much more likely use a Nerve Agent

More I hear the Rev talk, specifically when he comes out with this stuff, the more I think either Hilary or McCain have donated some money to his church's coffers to be honest. Either way 9/11 was America's chickens coming home to roost, in that he was correct, the AIDS thing sounds like something you'd hear on YouTube, or a Michael Moore docu....

He must be hurting Obama. Originally he had difficulty denouncing the original remarks from weeks ago. He has gone one step further & denounced the remarks but won't denounce the man. Unless Obama cuts all links it will continue to hurt him. He has already lost a lot of blue collar support.

Obama said the other day that whatever friendship they once had is gone, can't really say more than that to be honest

The problem is that the friendship is really only gone because it's hurting Mr.Hope.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

I'd say it's gone because the Rev is using Obama's campaign to make a media name for himself

He has a captive audience via the media now. Anything he says gets nationwide if not worldwide coverage.

This is a non issue which would be shown as such if the Dems had the cojones to go after the freaks on the right like Jerry Falwell and these other nut jobs who said that 9/11 was all down to gay people etc etc

Non issue - apart from Fox News and the Late night guys.

    He has dealt with it.

The more I see of Obama the better he comes across. Americans will regret it for a generation if they don't elect this guy - now, the Fourth Reich aka the GOP are coming down the tracks and expect more Willie Horton type stuff but I think he will beat Ginger.

Looks like it might be all over for Hilary

from the NY Times : As adamant as Mrs. Clinton appeared on Wednesday, several advisers said that how long she would stay in the race was an open question. Some top Clinton fund-raisers said that the campaign was all but over and suggested that she was simply buying time on Wednesday to determine if she could raise enough money and still win over superdelegates, the elected officials and party leaders who could essentially hand Mr. Obama the nomination.
