Are people looking forward to this? Do you think Lucas is going to ruin another cherished childhood memory? Is Indy all he's cracked up to be in the first place?

I can't say my expectations are all that high.

Who's directing? If it's Lucas then it will be cack, the guy just can't direct or write to be honest.

Spielberg's directing, and while Lucas wrote the story, they got someone else in to write the script, David Koepp, whose record isn't bad.

Bought the trilogy boxset the other week and have only just realised how crap the temple of doom is. I had to switch off half way through it's that bad.

The Indiana Jones movies are action/adventure movies intended for kids / family entertainment so you can't apply too move scrutiny to the plot.

Raiders of the Lost Ark was an enduring, entertaining movie within that genre.

I think the other two were patchy at best. The last one played for laughs rather than anything of any real substance.

I read that Sean Connery turned down reprising his role as Jones father in this one. It would have turned into an episode of "Last of the Summer Wine" if he hadn't.

Is Jones actually meant to be old in this one? The first one is set in the 40's, the 2nd one is set in the 30's, 3rd one the 40's.........................is this one set in the 50's/60's

Yeah, Jones is meant to be 20 years older and it's set in the 50's I think with the Soviets as enemies instead of the Nazis.

went to see it last night and it was very average. Fans of the series will love it, for the rest it's a good old fashioned action movie. Unfortunately it doesn't bring anything new to the table - except for Shia's character turning into a monkey.

Or the one where they're previewing a clip of Death Wish 9 with a decrepit Charles Bronson in the hospital bed saying "I wish I was dead."

Looking forward to it alright, but also doubt it'll come close to the first one, much as the Temple of Doom or the Last Crusade didn't. Still, nothing at all wrong with a bit of harmless fun.

Raiders was a classic of it's type. The 2 follow ups didn't really match it, and there's no reason at all to suppose that 26/27 years after the original Lucas/Spielberg will get any closer to recreating the magic.

I watched the three films recently. Last Crusade is better than you think,a nd a lot of people prefer it to Raiders. Temple is awful at the start but picks up when the action kicks in during the second half.

Ok i saw it tonight!, wasnt as impressed as i thought i would be!!, expected more to be fair!, A few surreal happenings, even by Indy Standards!!, Thought it took too long to get to the point!,ah well some of the effects were good though i have to give them that!, watch out for an early cameo from the Janitor from Scrubs!!

Defo worth a goo, not going to be considered a classic, comes across as having been made to make money off the Indiana Jones name, and not as much effort put in!

They've done the Cameo cop thing in another Harrison Ford film 'The Fugitive' in Scrubs already.

Did they leave Hollywood for this film? 'cos the locations in some of the other films made them more interesting. Also, the rehash of some famous stunts in the first film kept it in peoples memory longer. Especially as they get repeated in adverts.

There was lots of little cameos.

The copper from only fools and horses who stitched up Del' Boy. I thought of loads of them during the film can't think of half them now.

In fairness he is a fairly famous actor.....He was in Gangs of New York...
