3 points neccessity.
We have to get 3pts.I hope Feeney gets a chance again and starts.
Banana might be starting after the Galway management found out Gary Rodgers is the worst keeper in the world
RIP JOHNNY
3 points neccessity.
If ye're any good ye'll win this comfortably.
We're easily the worst team in the league and are guaranteed to make at least one defensive calamity costing us a goal no doubt.
The current crop of players at GUFC have the worst attitude and committment i've ever seen.

"Cause Galway are MASSIVE"-RW Rover on 24/8/07 00:29am
I'm really looking forward to this one but 3 points are never that easy to get. Yes galway aren't great but there are no easy games in this league.
I have to go along with the same as I will say 2-0 to Rovers
You know there's trouble in Galway when their fans aren't stating how they'll trounce us in their Cup Final cause they're the biggest team in Connacht...
this will be no easy game. local derbys never are. we have to be committed and resilient (like brandywell) i hope we get 3 points it would be great. the confidence of the team should be getting better and if they gel a bit more every game we have a good chance. every game in this league is a cup final and im sure the players are aware of this. look at shams last night beaten by cobh. question is how good are cobh or how bad are shams ?. paul doolin hit the nail on the head at the start of the sdeason when he said most teams in the league on their day are capable of beating each other. so we have to remain focussed. come on 'the bit o red'
A little bit of reverse psychology I'd say.
Galway are down at the moment but you can be sure it'll not be for long. It's never easy after loosing a manager for the players to pick themselves up and get on with it. They need motivation and what's better than a local derby. If these players are worth their salt and I'm sure they are then there will be no need for any extra motivation that having to prove to themselves that they are good enough to play at this level. I'd expect a hard game next Saturday and basically it will be down to how we ourselves prepare for this one. It's a game that we'll expect to win especially after our trip to the Brandywell, especially after getting off the mark in our last home game against cobh but we'll have to be very careful. The first twenty minutes of this game will be crucial so I'd expect Carrie and Cookie will be drilling this point home to our players all this week. Our support will have a huge part to play in this one also. I've said time and time again on this forum that our singing section get better by the game. Friday night last they outsang the Brandywell army and that'll not happen too often. Yes Saturday night's game is a big one, fingers crossed all our players will be up for it and they once again give us a performance that we can all be proud of.
Galway is not a local derby, only Harps and Longford could be classed as local...Athlone is nearer to Sligo than Galway is, Athlone aren't classed as local. The only connection with Galway being a derby is the fact that we're in the same province but Rovers aren't a gah team so that doesn't count.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
I predict 4-0 to Utd. That's if Rovers 1st team and the supporters trust team get their time slots mixed up. Otherwise 3-0 to Utd. My god, Ive gone delirious.

On current form, United could easily be hammered in the Showgrounds.
2-1 or 3-1 to Sligo.
Any truth to the rumours that Sean Connor is going to be appointed by Galway on Wesnesday , would make the match more interesting if this happened.

i'm forever the optimist, so i'm goin to go with 2-1 to us
I'm guessing you haven't seen us this season. The way we are playing, we will offer concrete evidence that the oft-quoted line 'there are no easy games' is pure and utter hogwash.
Ye had a cracking result against Derry, tonked Cobh at home the week before - if ye have your scoring boots on on Saturday, ye'll cruise it.
Not pessimism, just realism. We. Are. Awful.

True but doubtful. Our club website invites applications up to April 17th. (Thursday).
Still desperate stiuations and all that....
The intense hatred around Fizzborough & Sligo for SC blurs the fact that for three consecutive seasons the teams he managed improved their league positions.
