I was Just wondering if people thought that Kerr was doing a good job so far???
I know there havent been many matches but do people think he will be up to the challenge when the harder games come along???

I was very impressed with him after the Georgia match, he wasn't stupidly stubborn about his mistakes like our previous maneger and made brave positive changes and shipped out the people who needed to be shipped out, none of this loyalty crap, and the team paid him back with a great preformance. He looks an improvement over McCarthy at the very least.
Hes hit the job running & got some good results.
I'm not knocking Mccarthy but took him 3 years to learn his trade at international management. Only mistake Kerr seems to have made so far was playing Duff in the free role against a team he maybe underestimated.
i think he's done well, but he hasn't faced anything like the test of the russian and swiss games to come. in those cases he'll be pitted against better sides and better management teams than previously.
having said that, the players have responded well under him, he hasn't lost a game yet. i'm confident that he can build on what's gone before, and he seems hungry for success.
i honestly think that finally we have a managment and team who no longer see qualification for a major finals as the reward, rather than as a neccessity towards challenging for honours. Kerr doesn't have the 'small team doing well' mindset that perennially casts us as underdogs and happy with very little.
i also like the fact that he shows up to watch eircom league games, that he hasn't forgotten his roots.
It's a case of 'job done' so far - so fair play to him.
The true test is yet to come.
I have to say I am impressed so far. He saw his mistake with the formation against Albania and changed it. No ego trip.
He took Kinsella off against Albania because he was playing terrible. He then gave Healy a start against Georgia and he played is finest game for Ireland. No loyality rubbish.
While much tougher tests are still around the corner so far I am impressed. And I think Chris Hughton is a great coach far better then is predecessors.
His results on the field speak for themselves but off the field I think there's been a huge change. There's a real sense that "this is OUR team." Brian is very media friendly and we get so much honesty in the press. Mick McCarthy couldn't lie straight in bed!
When Brian took over the role no one gave us a hope of qualifying. Now destiny is in our own hands.
If we don't qualify then so be it, we'll move on to the World Cup Qualifiers. A big plus for Brian has been the transfers of Ireland players this summer.
Duff, Finnan, Reid, Breen etc.
