    Question Coughlan for City

Seems hes having a bit of a falling out with Stephen Kenny. Finances seem to be a bit tight at Bohs & could be alot tigher if they don't progress in the CL.

Would city fans accept Coughlan back given the manner he left?

We do need a centre back...

I would love to see him next to Dan at the back,Benno is doing well there but I'm a big fan of DC,and as you said we need cover there,I though he was gone Full-time though?? Cant see it happening to be honest.

i'd love to see judas coughlan back playing with city and alongside dan murray would make a kick-ass pairing, releasing benno into midfield with greg possibly

*derek would of course have to watch out for mis-placed traffic cones and dead legs (shure i play with a dead leg EVERY time in training) while resigning for city though and this is not as unimportant thing as you might think (well for derek that is) *

and i think a guarenteed player of the month award might have be a clause in his contract
    life is random

think the fans would always accept a returning player. Look at Morley. Maybe with one exception - Reynolds.

Don't think Bennett is strong enough at centre-half. Derek would be great with Dan methinks.

I wouldnt want him back. For one thing, he aint good enough. The amount of mistakes i seen him make this season is unreal. Plus we have a very able sub centre half in Napier.

He'd be a handy substitute though and always a fella you'd throw up front 1-0 down with 5 to go...

He would be a good addition to the squad (starting 11?). I don't think we really need a centre back but I suppose we could put Benno in midfield and Coughlan partnering Dan at the back.

That said, he seems very bitter about every aspect of CCFC and as long as certain people are still involved with the club, I can't see him coming back.

I'd like to see Steven Napier come back in for a run of games first.
If Naps does not look up to it, let Derek come back, but Steven is owed a chance at the very least.

I agree, he was having a great season before his injury last year. He deserves a chance.

It is not that he deserves it .... and he does .... but he would give it all, he has always been a tidy player, great positioning and intelligent .... Steveo should definitely get a run.

To be honest- i really dont think we need derek- benno is doing a fantastic job and keeps getting better and better- he is young and will be with us for a long time while judas is getting older and may only be in his prime for a few more years!!!!!! To say benno should be dropped makes no sense!! Him and murray are doing really well

I would love to see Derek back in a city jersey.
Push Benno into midfield beside greg.

Although there's obviously a lot of people who would like to see napier back in the squad, he's been out for a long time and doesn't seem to be getting back in. If he's not coming back, then we need someone like Derek.

Well Ive only ever heard Derek's version of events and if they are true I wouldnt blame for not coming back as long as Gunther is still there.Though I would also like to hear Gunthers version(should be good for a laugh at least)

Even if he doesn't leave during this season i think Derek is maybe just on a 1 year fulltime contract with Bohs after probably taking a areer break or something. Seems like eh could be looking for a club next year anyway although hes supposed to have had a very good season last year...

He did have a good season last time round.
He has his weaknesses but in general is a good centre half.
If he only has a year's career break and has a job in Cork
then City would be a good option for him.

Once again i think that James has a good point.

In fact im wondering, has James ever made a bad point?

He had a great season for us last season, was left out once or twice which co-incided with some of our worst performances (especially vs scum away in cup semi final) . Didn't start this season too well (like 99% of our squad) but that was partly due to playing in front of a mute, timewasting clown in goal, Kenny seems to have decided that he can't blame Shay Kelly for his mistakes so Coughlan is the scapegoat. According to the papers he is injured, however on the official site's pre-match report from the physio he is never mentioned as being injured. Hopefully it all gets sorted out soon, we have too many fancy ball-playing centre halves who forget sometimes that being a defender is principally about defending and anything on top of that is a bonus. He has taken a year's career break from his job to go full-time but the intention was that if it worked out he would extend his career break and continue as a full-time footballer with Bohs

Same here. I wouldn't bet on him coming back any time soon- he seems very bitter towards city fans as well, feels he wasn't appreciated or something. Also, by the time he left he was nowhere near his best, he looked a shadow of th player who played for the U21's. TBH, I don't think we need him, I think dan murray is a much better player and in napier and bennett we have two other excellent centre backs, plus afew lads from the U-21's like Cillian Lordan. Coughlan can stay in dublin, we don't need him.
