MONS PLAY DERRY IN PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
Monaghan United head to the Brandywell on Saturday 23rd February to take on Premier Division side Derry City in a preseason friendly. Kick off for the game is 3pm and the game is seen as another great opportunity for Mick Cooke to put his squad through their paces in the run up to the start of the season on the 7th March.

United have already beaten premier side Bray Wanderers 1-0 and lost to Bohemians 1-0 as Cooke tries to ensure that his team are fit and sharp for the first game of the 2008 FAI eircom League of Ireland season against Limerick 37 at Kingspan Century Park.

CHANGES CONTINUE AT KINGSPAN CENTURY PARK
As Monaghan United strive towards improving facilities at Kingspan Century Park fans will notice some changes when they arrive at the ground for the new season. Firstly they will pass through new electronic turnstiles on their way into the ground. Once there they will see the new enclosed Press facilities at the back of the stand and they will also be able to keep an eye on the scores thanks to a new electronic scoreboard!

These changes are a start of things to come at United’s homeground as they endeavour to make the ground more and more user friendly.

CONGRATULATIONS TO COLM
Monaghan United are delighted with the news that Vice-Chairman and Licensing Officer Colm “Duke” Mahony has been elected onto the FAI Development Committee.

This is a prestigious role for the hardworking Monaghan United Committee member and it was only a matter of time before his contribution to various aspects of the FAI were rewarded with a role within football’s governing body.

MINI LEAGUES RETURNING SOON
Monaghan United’s Monaghan Credit Union Mini Leagues are due to resume in the coming weeks as hopefully the weather improves. Keep an eye on local press for details.
