Pint/bottled beer in Odense was about €3. We went with local beer all the time. International brands (heineken, bud etc) were more expensive. Food was cheap (admittedly it was all fast food, in between drinking)
Lovely little town it was too.
Anybody ever been to any parts of Denmark aside from Copenhagen? Got a cheap flight/hotel for a town called Vejle for this weekend. I've been to Copenhagen and remember it being quite expensive. I'm hoping that was mainly because it's the capital, and the rest of the country will be cheaper.
Any idea how much a beer is likely to cost in a pub?
The glass isn't half full or half empty it's just too damn big!

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
I've passed through Vejle on a number of occasions and it looks a nice spot from a train window.
Beer prices vary a lot. In Copenhagen you could be paying anything up to €8 for 500ml but in Velje it should be a lot less than this. Local beers are not necessarily cheaper - the micro-brewery craze is very popular in Denmark and these beers are expensive even off-license prices. If you what one of these beers expect to pay a price similar to a bottle of wine.
Heineken is now brewed in Denmark so you should find that it's not that much more expensive than the Carlsberg muck.
There plenty of Lidl type supermarkets in Denmark so go to one of these supermarkets if you want cheap beer as BohsPartisan said. The cheapest Danish beer is Harboe but they don't do pub sales.
The beer in Odense was Albani. Lots of different varieties. I liked it...

Was in Billund for a few days to see some equipment, Spent 2 hours trying to find the only bar in the town (Highlander ?) which was closed !!!!
Think 2 horse town with an international airport and kids theme park (Legoland) on its doorstep.
Hotel Legoland is okay for a few beers and you can drink in Legoland but definetly wouldnt rush back to Billund
Nice airport , ex luftwaffe base apparently
I was in Aarhus last August for the Ireland game. Had a great time, the people were very friendly and couldnt help enough. The beer wasnt particularly cheap, but to be fair it wasnt really any different than what you would expect pay in Dublin and the two nights i spent there didnt end up being anywhere near as expensive as i feared it would be.
Good luck!
was in odense.from what i saw, which was very little, its a nice place. nice looking women.
