Sad News - "The Duke" Of Windsor Passes Away.

    Very sad news.

    A Linfield legend passes away.

    R.I.P.

    From the Linfield FC website.

It is with much sadness that Linfield Football Club announces the death of the former captain of the 1961-62 Seven Trophy Winning Team, Tommy Dickson who was of course famously nicknamed "The Duke of Windsor".

Tommy passed away in the early hours of today after a long illness, courageously borne.

The Englishmen came over in the year 2005
But little did they know that we'd planned a wee surprise
Sir David scored the winner, and Windsor Park went wild
And this is what we sang...

Very, sad news. I've met Tommy on many occasions. He was arguably the greatest ever Linfield player. My sympathies go to his family and friends.
