Was just watchin the Patrick Vieria press conference at Man City there and couldnt help but be reminded of when he signed for Arsenal. He had come from AC Milan where he didnt exactly make the grade. The same for Henry when he went to Juventus... Im sure they and the Arsenal fans are glad that Wenger wasnt so quick to write off young players as others are

i heard that he is getting 150k a week?! wtf, he is 33, the lad would have come for half that. what are they at at city?

is it just to show off that they can do it and then entice bigger players?!

yeah its madness, I cant understand that sort of wages when he was looking to sign to get first team football in the run up to the world cup

Ya crazy money going around there, the clubs have a collective responsibility to keep it in check, i really don't think a player should get more then €1k a week.

Obviously they weren't getting anything near that figure but i nearly shed a tear for the poor lads at Pompey who went about 3 weeks without wages, the poor lads, whatever would they do

It's more than that gilberto, according to an anonymous player not only did the first team not get paid (I agree, boo-hoo), the reserves didn't get paid, the youth team didn't get paid, the staff didn't get paid.
A lot harder for all of them to get through the holidays without their wages

Ah fair enough didn't really consider the other teams in the clubs, just didn't like the way they were putting it across on the sports news, they're hardly stuck for it.

The information is not publicly available as there are rights to privacy under UK employment law. As there are no salary restrictions on Premier League clubs they have no requirement to disclose the information except where they are publicly quoted companies in which case they will only reveal an aggregate compensation number but there is no way of breaking it down to individual players.

Generally, the numbers we read in the newspapers are estimates (or leaked numbers) but in most cases they are probably accurate (e.g. Vieira getting GBP 150k a week). There are a few unofficial lists which are usually good for a laugh.....

I was watching Goals on Sunday today and Tony Adams was saying that we was in Milan over Christmas and he was with Viera and as far as Viera was concerned he was ready to pack it in or move to the MLS! His eyes must of popped out of his head when he saw the money he was being offered

Do you mean 150k a year? Even Frank Lampard doesn't make 150k a week.
