    British forces leaving Northern Ireland.

After 38 years, the British Army is pulling out of Northern Ireland, apart from a small garrison which will be under police control.

Surely thats the point, Banner is over therefore the remaining soldiers will not be supporting the police (they were never under police control per se).

On the one hand I do think they stopped the two communities wiping each other out. On the other of course they were foreign soldiers on Irish land. Some of the arrogant majors and the like who used to give interviews after some poor innocent was shot dead by the army used to defy belief for the tripe they'd come out with. Had little sympathy for them or for the record the IRA either.

I felt for the nationalist community stuck between the two and John Hume will always be a hero of mine.

Anyway, please God we won't ever see them back on the streets of Ireland again.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
