Our keeper crisis made the news this morning so I'm guessing Dave Ryan hasn't recovered yet.

Not sure of his first name. I know he's from Ennis though.

Has played with Galway and Sligo(I think).

Anyone else think he didn't look overly impressive.

Was it long serving Limerick player John Healy? Didn't make it to the game as I was stuck in Cork so don't know myself

In fairness to Healy I think he's a good shotstopper, as for kick outs and dealing with crosses though............

He plays like the best goalkeeper in the league with two broken hands, great shotstopper but catching and dealing with crosses have also given him difficulties. Good guy, definitely worth keeping around, probably better than Ryan based on the little we've seen of him?
The ball is round and has many surprises.

I dont know if i'd agree. Ryan's kicking is awful but seems very confident for corners or anyting that he can take from the air with very good hands.

Seen Fyffe in Cobh and didn't look interested at all. Seemed like he was fakin injury for a lot of the game and didn't look comfortable under high ball or with his feet, but good off his line.

And Healy didn't see much to impress but if he'll stick around without complaining then fair play and keep him there(imo).

Any chance of a moled of the 3?

Ryan would be my first choice - he's visibly improving game by game and is brilliant at crosses and corners. Its easy to forget he's only 18 and will only get better the more experience he gets.

    Hi Shelbourne

We have not yet appointed a manager for the U21 side.
The format is U21 for this season with no over age and then down to U20 next season. The Limerick youth academy will be set up in the next few days and launched next week this will add greatly to the support offered to the yout teams in the city and county.

Keep watching the website for announcments re the U21 manager

Austin O Neill, ok my tongue might be slightly in my cheek when saying he has the best qualitys of our 3 keepers, but most of us would like to have him back i think. Having said that Ryan is improving a bit and it should be interesting to see his progress over the next few months.

Thanks for the update and keep up the goodwork

On another subject. You may have seen the comments already bout the pitch.I thought it was quite good.Is it bumpy or is it just this time of the year after the transition from the winter when the drying has made it rock hard and you dont have the cushion of lush grass to take the bounce out of it??

L37 had some work done on the pitch in the first weeks after the setup was apporved but really this work should have been done months ago so we are playing catch up, the pitch has been treated and will improve over the next weeks. It will need to be rolled soon but it is not bad.
