    United v St. Pats

What team for Good Friday? I'll start it off with........

    Rogers
    James Wes Reggie Tracy
    Davoren Foley Lester O'Brien
    O'Flynn Murphy

Wouldnt mind seeing Goughie in goal but it aint gonna happen
Dunno if Tracey is back fit or not.
I think Davoren is worth a try he impressed me before in the friendlies.
Murphy is showing his class again and in front of goal is where I want to see him.

i dont think youll be seeing murph up front - i dont think he should go with the 2 big lads upfront together again either

barry did take the ball on when he came on against rovers

think it should be little and large

Do you think he doesnt see Murphs as a striker at all? That would be a bad move altogether IMO.
Little n Large up front hhmm let me see, Lester is large. Dont think Barry is up to the top flight standard yet tbh but as you say he does put in the effort everytime and who knows when it could pay off.

One thing thats for sure is we must drop the 4-5-1 formation and get used to the 4-4-2 for the lesser teams that we'll be playing in the near future.

it will be 3 5 2 again with Iarliath in for Cookie. The match reports in the nationals were appalingly biased and it was as good a performance as weve had this season and our luck is bound to change and god help the team we are playing when it does. I dont know why some people are still slagging John Lester he was awesome on Friday night easily the best player of the 28 on view.

elevenaside had a fairly unbiased report - but have to agree gufct - that the media gave a justly rewarded victory for rovers - far from it

Was only jokin gufct! He has actually lost most of the weight he was carrying and tbh he can fairly move around the park anyway. the old 3-5-2 is obviously confusin our opponents as its an unusual format i suppose. I agree with you on the day is eventually works cos i'd say we could put three or four past the lesser teams.

Maybe with Tracy fit we could try him in his natural position, left mid, and stick to 3-5-2?

if Derek puts in the same effort every game Shane wont get a look in. As for the goal on friday i think anyone of 3 players should have tackled Ger Rowe as he waltzed across in front of them.

if we play a 3-5-2 it will make the match interesting as Pats are playing that format this season too.

    -------------Rogers-------------
    James----Nooitmeer----Charles
    -------------Foley---------------
    O'Brien-Murphy-Lester-Davoren
    Armstrong----------------Glynn

that'd be my team anyway. glynn looked lively when he came on and i'd like to see him get more time and see how he progresses
Homer: I'm gonna make sure these deliveries are made on time.
Bart: Let me come with you
    Homer: Dont you have school!
    Bart: Dont you have work!
    Homer: Ah Touche!

That's for sure. His wife is due to have their 3rd baby any day so I reckon he will be busy.

We wont play 352 as our 2 wingbacks will be missing so 433 with a DMF playing RB and a CB playing LB

Is Armstrong playing for GUFC at all?

    minute silence?

slightly off topic but will their be a minute silence at the game on friday night for that pats lad who passed away on monday??he was on here and the old eircomleague.net site as WWS,think his name was pete.the pats fans wont be in such a joyfull mood because of losing one of their own obviously.it puts this round ball on grass thing into prespective.
how did clery play last night?he could go up front if we need 2 big front men up there if chris is injured.i would love if both sides do play 3-5-2 on friday, cant remember last time i seen a game where that happened.

He was! he got a pretty bad injury on Tuesday night against Monaghan, early reports suggest he could be out for the season. It's a pity because he looked sharp in pre-season.

With Armstrong out Barry could be in the starting lineup, O'flynn still doesnt seem 100% fit. Davoren used to play up front for Athlone I wonder if he could do a job up front for us?

alan kelly is our ref again.

oh no,alan kelly is our ref.so let me just type now what ill probably be typing in 24 hours time "the ref scewed us,he always gives us sweet fe*k all,we should have had a peno and theirs was never one" .
armstrong is apparently "only" out for 3 months.so he should be back well in time for the title run in .
    prediction 1-1.
