    Who'll win the Bundesliga?

Will Schalke be able to hold their nerve and stay in front? The win against Stuttgart at the weekend will do them a lot of good. Bayern look to be out of it now after losing a Frankfurt, but you never know. And Bremen look to be back to something approaching top form.

    I'll go with Bremen.

I reckon Schalke will hold out. They have an easier run in and are in slightly better form.

Next weekend. Setanta have cut back on their coverage big time (of all live European football). Instead we're getting Munster schools rugby....

The relegation battle is turning into an almighty ruck as well. Moenchengladbach look in gone, and any 2 of the bottom half could go with them. Dortmund are dropping like a stone, and Bielefeld's form since the break has been woeful.

Always wondered about the lack of discussion about the Bundesliga on here. Some quality teams, some quality players, better stadia and a better league in some ways than the shyteheap across the pond. Always liked Bremen. They've been unlucky in the champions lge the last few seasons.

I think it's too close to call. when Bremen started losing Schalke caught up on them but when Schalke lost a few, Bremen were able to pick up enough to keep them in it.

Bayern are out of it. Stuttgart have a very slight outside chance. I would've loved to seen Nurnberg be up there but unfortunately I doubt that now.

Agree with Kingdom, some great players over there. Marcelinho at Wolfsburg is a personal favourite. And the stadiums are a lot bigger and better then what you get in England.

I reckon that if you were to put a Bundesliga select against a Premiership select, the Bundesliga would win every time.

I disagree. The Bundesliga probably in the second tier of European leagues these days, although it was a very strong league in days gone by. I definitely agree about stadia, crowds and atmosphere being better though.

Germany aren't producing great indviduals these days which has contributed to the decline of the Bundesliga. They still produce decent sides at international level though and are always well-organised.

To go further into your comment, the Premiership could field this XI (plus subs):

    GK: Cech
    LB: Ashley Cole
    CB: Terry
    CB: Gallas
    RB: Neville
    LM: Giggs
    CM: Gerrard
    CM: Ballack
    RM: Ronaldo
    CF: Rooney
    CF: Henry

Subs: Given, Woodgate, Ferdinand, Lampard, Berbatov, Martins

That'd be my Premiership XI on current form.

Basically, the only position there that's not filled by a world class performer is possibly Gary Neville. All the others are definitely players of the highest quality who would challenge for a place in a European XI.

Even the subs are probably better than 95% of Bundesliga players.

    Bayern 2 Schalke 0.

Schalke looked like rabbits in headlights...totally froze. Bremen only drew at Cottbus, and Stuttgart won, so its Schalke on 53 points, Bremen 51, Stuttgart 49, Bayern 47.

Bayern have to play catch up and didn't look too impressive in the early part of the League campaign.....

How did Kuranyi play? I know there was alot of criticism for the German FA when they released Bayern players from the international mid-week friendly and not Kuranyi, a Schalke player.

    Bochum 2 - 1 Schalke
    Arminia Bielefeld 3 - 2 Werder Bremen
    Borussia Moenchengladbach 0 - 1 Stuttgart

    Moenchengladbach are relegated, Karlsruhe promoted.

    Schalke 62 points
    Stuttgart 61 points
    Bremen 60 points

    3 games left:

    Schalke
    -------
    Nuernberg (H)
    Dortmund (A)
    Bielefeld (H)

    Stuttgart
    ---------
    Mainz (H)
    Bochum (A)
    Cottbus (H)

    Bremen
    -------
    Berlin (A)
    Frankfurt (H)
    Wolfsburg (A)

Schalke look to have thehardest run-in.

    2 games to go
    All three won last weekend.

    Revierderby this weekend!

Schalke Bottlers, Stuttgart's Kids and Bremen Mercenaries all separated by
2 points. They are playing a mixture of mid-table and relegation candidates
over the last 2 games. Stuttgart have the 'easiest' 2 games so you'd expect
them to pick up 6 points. However they are playing Bochum away on Satdee.
Bochum have this Greek fella up front banging in the goals so i reckon
Stuttgart might draw. They will beat Cottbus at home in their last game.

Bremen play Frankfurt at home. They should be good enough to win that. Then they play Wolfsburg away in the last game.
Wolfsburg currently lie 4th from bottom, 3 points ahead of Aachen. They play each other this weekend so if Wolfsburg win they stay up. I think it will be so nervy it will be a draw.
Thus Wolfsburg will need a point in their last game to ensure staying up
and i think they'll get it.

And so to the bottlers Schalke. They haven't won the league in 40 odd
years. They were the '4 minuten meister' in 2001. They finished their last
match of the season 4 minutes before Bayern who needed a goal to win the
title. With practically the last kick of the game FC Hollywood scored a
free-kick, thus denying Schalke the title.
Schalke play Dortmund in the Revierderby this weekend (away) and Bielefeld at home on the last day. I think Schalke will win both and take the
    title.

But sure what do i know!
