He could make Gunther "Director of Football", a move upstairs would surely pave the way for a decent manager.
Been thinking about this one for a few days now & i think i've finally come up with a scenario that would result in Liam Murphy leaving city without being sacked.
I believe Brian Lennox is ambitious for city & considering they've been flying to a few matches recently the club must have a few quid to spare.
By flying to Dublin last friday i think it showed Lennoxs ambition for the league (attempt to get within 3 points of Bohs) asap. I noticed his piece in the progamme last week outlining his disappointment with the semi final loss & 'promising to get city to the final soon'. I think its a while since any city owner has come across wanting the club to suceed so much.
Without asking Murphy to set down or sacking him (will never happen) brian Lennox only has to make one decision at the end of the season which will indirectly lead to Murphy stepping down...
Any guesses?
Too cryptic?

That option been mentioned before but thats not the one i'm thinking of.
What comes before a Director of Football?
potato pie maker in bandon road hq?
john flynn? - awesome!!!!!!
he's going nowhere............ they are friends for years, their families know each other etc etc. he'll have to go himself. i cant see him jumping
We currently have & fulltime footballers at City.
Whats the point in having fulltime players & a part-time manager?
Think about it - imagine how cushy a job would be it your manager left at lunchtime.
What do the & fulltime city players do when their manager is off on his other job? If you were John O'Flynn & given the option would you stay with a part-time club or move on to a fulltime outfit?
so you reckon gunther will go fulltime?
Nope.Originally posted by Pablo

If city move for fulltime manager then bye bye Mr. Murphy.
Good idea, pete, but ...........
Can we afford it?
that would seem like a good move. but lets hope Gunther doesnt get it.
i know its easy to say from the stands but surely a man of Gunters expierience can see how poor Deccie is playing..............it baffles me that he cant see some of the things happening in his team
(Trying to keep thead on topic & not commenting on gunthers tic tacs)
I know Lennox has said city need to go fulltime off the pitch beforte they can match that on the pitch but you a fulltime sqaud would take years to gradually assemble & you would need a fulltime manager in place before that.
I know its a bit simplistic but would not a fulltime manager only cost twice a part-time manager?
I don't know if the cork public will back up their comments but how many times do you hear sunshine summers moan about nothing changing at city?
What better way to communicate the progress the club wants to make than a fulltime manager with financially dependent fulltime squad?
Yeah, or youth director or something like that, which I have no doubt he´d be very good at.Originally posted by razor
