Kerry's Eye reporting that the Munster Cup final had been tentatively planned for May until the MFA announcement, presumably if the Turners Cross surface is playable by the mid-season break, that'll be the most likely window available.

As long as you smile and nod every 10 seconds pretending to feign interest is fine - Im saving you from being torn limb from limb for not seeming interested, its a dangerous world for exclusively followers of the mens game out there!

Rovers rent in Tallaght rising from 98k per year to 240k to play 40 matches.
Steep increase and sets the bar for the new Dalymount or any other stadium developments by council/Government.

Any news that Shelbourne are trying to get the West seated stand at the Drumcondra end reopened for next season?

Those are the going rates for anyone who wants to rent it.

What does the annual fee cover? Does it exclude a random team from renting the ground?

I’ve heard several rumours , shut down by the fire officer , shut down for bad foundations , shut down for breach of planning. I’d like to know the truth it’s a decent stand by LOI standards.

For the facility it is Im not sure its that expensive. Its been negotiated with Rovers rather han billed so maybe its correlated to Rovers' attendance projections and maybe includes a % reduction clause if crowds dont materialise or remain as they are. How much do Rovers pay on maintenace? Tbh any old LoI ground would suck up that level of money just keeping it usable - Finn Harps and floodlights, Dundalk the same, but if significant things like pitch are covered under the rent then it may not be at all expensive. The headline details will be reported but net cost compared to owning and running a similar facility would be an interesting comparison.

I would agree - 240k a year for a facility that would cost 40m to build today (North stand was 11m alone) is reasonable. Rovers average gate is over 7k right now which is probably around €80k a game on gate receipt alone and you can probably add another €40k to that with other revenue generators (food, club shop, advertising etc). At least 20 home games a year means anywhere between €2m - €2.5m is generated. That’s just from the men’s side, obviously there are 20 other games allowed, but would not generate anywhere near what the men’s team generates. Paying a rent of around 10% per annum or circa 2% of todays capital cost is decent… again though the devil is in the detail as to who pays what and what revenues go where (e.g advertisement boards, food revenues etc).

St Colman's is looking like a great wee ground now. Perfect for Cobh's needs.

Yeah fair play to Cobh they got a grant and got assistance from Simon Coveney and local TDs. How I know is that I bought their match program and they mentioned that fact
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

A dumb priest never got a parish, as the saying goes - incremental, but regular improvements by all clubs would make a cumulative impact.

I always enjoy going to Cobh, lovely clubhouse bar there too.
I know ye did some work before last season started Culloty, but have Kerry any plans to improve the ground?

What's the reason it's closed in the first place? Was only built around 1998 I think

Im prety sure it was to do with structural issues ie foundations subsiding as a resuld of sodden ground from the Tolka bursting its banks.
