    Cup Draw

Well....it's on tomorrow at 5 45(?) in Drogheda.Anyone know what channel is it on?RTE usually but with it been earlier than usual i wouldn't be too sure.

Any preferences?A nice big tie at home?A non league outfit away?

Personally i'd love Castlebar away or a nice plump tie, home or away, against those crowd up in the North west of Connacht.

I have a feeling we'll get a big draw though....Derry and Cork at home last 2 seasons so it will be hard to top that.Lets hope we go on a cup run this year....one things for sure no one will fancy a trip to fortress Terryland.

    ATHLONE TOWN v GALWAY UTD

    BANGOR/ATHENRY v SHELBOURNE

Not a bad draw, should go there with a lot of confidence hopefully.
Nice carrot for Athenry if they can do it on Sunday. Best of Luck
    Lavine: will he be involved?

I think we should have a clause against ex players playing against us after a departure like lavines It s commonplace elsewhere and we know he'll be well up for getting one over Lally at the end of the month. There'll be a huge crowd from Galway tho' (short trip and all that beer ) and that should give us a boost. Lets not kid ourselves tho' its always difficult down there

Looking forward to the tie alright.

The Lavine saga will add an extra bit of spice along with us
having a few other players who've played with ye before.

The cup is anyones game on the day, both teams we're poor
in the League meeting so we'll see what happens.

Prediction Athlone Town 1-0 Galway Utd. Lavine getting the
winner naturally (if he's still with us by then that is )

looks like I'll be going to an away game for the first time in a few years now !

Hopefully the game wont be as bad as the league encounter. I think united will have found there feet with the games that are in the run-in to the game and should see us going into the draw for the 3rd round.

That's over 3 weeks away Ash, i'd say you'd be safer to keep ur predictions to nearer the time

So, will the game be on a Friday or Saturday?

I think it's a bad draw to be honest - away from home at a ground we've a **** record in and against a team that are pretty useful.

I would've thought in such an instance "you can't win" would be more apt Ash
