Your chance to play for Ireland

Folks, apologies for the short notice but in my efforts to keep the numbers realistic I've been caught with a few late withdrawals.

At Dalymount Park tomorrow - Sunday Jan 22nd the Dublin Chinese community play their Belfast counterparts. The warmup is a game between the RoI football fans and the NI football fans. Kickoff 12 noon.

Admission is free but the games are being organsied to benefit the Red Cross and they will be collecting on the day.

If anybody fancies togging out for the Irish fans team please be at Dalymount for 11.15am tomorrow. You will get a game at some stage. You will have a chance to play on the most hallowed turf in Irish football. Please bring gear, boots and a green jersey or T shirt and ask for Gary.

I'll try and check pms tonight/tomorrow morning but I guarantee everyone that turns up a run at some stage.

    The anticipated goal-fest never materialised.
When I saw the team, I was sure NI would knock at least 20 past you.

We lost 2-1 - not bad as the NI team play regularly. We met for the first time on Sunday. We also won the 2nd half. Anyway our Chinese team won 4-3.

Thanks to all who showed up and played. Hopefully we can do the same for the return match in Belfast next year. The IFA sponsored a cup for the game and we intend to go up and win it next year.

I am going to try and get some spnsorship for next time out. We had a motley collection of green jerseys with Opel and eircom on the front not to mention Cork City, Limerick away and Bursaspor. The Northern Ireland guys produced a 2nd full kit in white when our shirts clashed.

Thanks also to Bohs for use of the pitch. Great day all round - only downside was that our keeper Cyril broke his arm.

Thanks again for doing that Gary. Any chance of the pics being posted on the net?
