    Shels announce O'Halloran signing

Shelbourne have confirmed the signing of Greg O'Halloran from Cork City.
Primarily a midfielder, O'Halloran can also play in any of the positions across the back four and slotted in at left back for Sunday's FAI Cup final.
O'Halloran was out of contract following that game and had been expected to move.

When he played for us he was either really bad or really good .... but since Dolan left he has been mostly good. He isn't a really skillful player but made up for it with tenacity and heart.

But there is another side to him, anytime things dont go his way, he is straight onto the newspapers or whoever will listen. When he is like this, he takes a lot of managing.

Another thing is that one day he'd lay down his life for the club and the next he is going to Rovers/another club .... it got a bit tiresome after a while. Its like if you are working with some and you are asked to go to their going away party for the eighth time, you just begin to wonder if the guy will ever actually leave ..... i still wont believe this until i actually see him play against us !!

I don't know why Shels would buy a player from our bench.

He's no more likely to get on the Shels side than he was to get onto ours, he might replace Crawley at left back, though they have the same faults (distribution).

Makes it quite clear that he shouldn't even have been considered for the match on Sunday though, now we know what the lack of interest and effort was down to.

Don't think he's a huge loss, but at the same time, I hope it doesn't start an exodus.

    Oh.....by the way. Boooo!!

    I wouldn't wish for that!!!
He was shocking most of the season with us,although that could of been due to him being guaranteed a game due to his friendship with Rennie.I believe he improved when he went to Pat's.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back in the blue jersey next season!!

Patsh, Greg loves Cork City and is just as much a fan as you or I. He obviously felt he had to leave Cork City for now for whatever reasons. He'll be back though, same as Derek Coughlan.

    Best of luck Greg.

Probably in a few weeks time if past history is anything to go on....

I've defended Greg from some of the ridiculous criticism he has received over the years, but I'm disgusted with this move and won't pretend otherwise.

He will blossom when he plays for Shels, just like Morley before him ( not so sure about Ollie though! ).

when greg was with us a few years back on his debut against pats he scored one of the best goals ever scored at flancare park!

he did nothing after that though! three ex town players with shels that all played together with us in stephen kennys time with the club!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
