    Fixture Chaos?

Why has Derry v Pats game been moved to Monday 14th? Seems a bizarre decision when both teams will have huge impact on title & relegation...

Why are the league forcing Derry to move the game for tv?

Derry are dead right to stick to their guns on it, though apparently the FAI now wnt it played on the Sunday afternoon since the Brandywell isn't free on the Monday night as the dogs are on.

What the fcuk has it got to do with th FAI???? This is a league match, they can go and Fcuk themselves.

The game should be played on Friday night and that's it.

It's obviously TV driven - sure we'll do anything to suit RTÉ when it suits them!

It is the height of insanity to change games at short notice as well as the fact that they may be giving an advantage to one of the title or relegation threatened teams. Even worse seems that Derry been forced to move to Monday without the FAI checking if the ground even available that day.

You'd think the FAI could spend their time organising the FAI CUP final which is their responsibility.

    Angry

this kind of fixturing would be a disgrace to the organiser of a pub league. why cant the league just be run over specific days and leave it like that for the season, with the odd game being moved (after very long notice ie when fixtures issued) for TV.

What next from the FAI ??
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Believe it or not, this kind of carry-on has been par for the course in the Premiership for years now given the power that Sky have. Money talks, it's as simple as that.

Appalling. Derry are dead right telling them to fcuk right off dogs or no dogs. We had 2 premier games over the weekend with no cameras and now they want to shift one game to a monday to show it live. Oh dear

Surprised nobody has mentioned the pats fans in this. If any of them has booked accommodation or a day off or whatever they must be pulling their hair out. Fcuk live football leave it on the original date ffs.

The only people pushing for the game tobe played Sunday/Monday is the Eircom League and RTE, and they can go and **** off!

The money RTE is giving for the game is only going to cover the amount off people who will stay in the bar instead off going to the game, it isnt going to benifit anyone!

Agree with NY hoop, they usually bring a good support and that will be ****ed also if these *******s get there way.

Once again the F.A.I. show no respect for genuine football fans in our country. Pats fans would need to have taken half-days to travel but who cares as long as a broadcaster who for years has ignored the domestic league is kept happy.

The F.A.I. can attempt to silence every voice of dissent and threats of fines may achieve this but they won't be allowed to bully clubs in regard to when they play their games especially a week before the fixture.
"The Derry fans were fantastic in both matches. They sang their hearts out all the time and created an even better atmosphere than the Cup Final. They were brilliant. - David Graham, Gretna striker

Its stupid. At this time of season, should be played at same time and date as every other game in the interests of fairness, but we all know the FAI don't care about that!

Next Tuesday should be interesting so, whan a TV Forum for all eircom League clubs is been held by the FAI November in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone.

The Forum will be addressed by representatives of all the partner broadcasters, RTE, Setanta Sports, TG4, TV3 and Chorus, and will provide clubs with an opportunity to meet with, and pose questions to, the broadcasters.

All clubs should be represented by their Management Committee Delegate and their nominated TV Liaison Officer.

Dinner will be served following the meeting and overnight accommodation will also be provided.

Can't show it on Saturday night, no?? That's when it should be. The game is scheduled to be played on the WC play-off weekend. As Ireland are not playing in them, why can't the game be played/shown on Saturday night, to accommodate away fans, and maximise the home gate??

That would seem like the obvious compromise, but it must not suit RTE's schedule.

Sure they're showing English football then, much more important.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

I knew someone would fall for it. There's no Premiership on that weekend.

Nothing to stop them showing Derry-Pats, or indeed any other NL league game live, on that Saturday evening.
