    Setanta Cup place

Looks unlikely we get it unless we seriously start puching shels in the league. Cork and Derry meeting in Semi's of FAI Cup means no passing on to us by virtue of Derry winning the LC and both being auto qualifiers from league positions.
"I don’t want to tempt fate, but Thierry Henry is not having one of his best nights." - RTE co-commentator Jim Beglin, minutes before TH struck the stunning winner.

Did Ucd not get the place from the league cup?or is it going to third in the league? Was dissapointed with the cup draw but was looking more towards the intertoto spot going to 4th the the setanta cup place
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Boy do I wish we had. The League Cup spot will go to 3rd place in the league not UCD. If Cork or Derry win the FAI Cup then 4th place in the league will get the FAI Cup Setanta spot. So hope for a Cork or Derry win the in the cup and it'll probably see you back in the Setanta.

Bosco, cup runners up do not get into the Setanta. If an already Setanta qualified team wins a cup then the place goes to the next spot in the league.

If Derry/Cork win Cup (and league) Setanta place would go to 4th, but wouldn't the losers of the cup get into UEFA Cup?

I believe the losers get into the UEFA, yes. Setanta qualification follows different rules however.

According to the Herald yesterday that if the cup winners say Cork or Derry don't win the league then the 2nd place UEFA spot will go to the 3rd placed team as they would take the one for the cup and the Intertoto will go to fourth.

    e.g.
    Cork league (CL)
    Derry Cup (UEFA)
    Shels 3rd UEFA)
One from Longford,Drogs or Bohs (Intertoto)
