Surely the runners up in the League Cup will get the spare Setanta Cup place ? It would be the fairest thing all round

I'll echo your congratulations to Derry though. Delighted for them. Great Supporters.

In the overall context, winning the League Cup, is about as important as winning the U-21 league. As for the Setanta Cup, Derry had already booked their place in next year's tournament via the league, so the bonus prize on offer turned out to be irrelevant.

Yeah, coz Rovers are in a position to dismiss ANY trophy as unimportant!!! BTW thats why you'll never win the treble

Yuck, those grapes, how sour they taste................

Good to see Shamrock Rovers are in such financial health they can sneer at the revenue (prize money and gate receipts) from winning the League Cup. God help your club if the new owners share your views, although I suspect they won't.

It's truly amazing how so many people can't read/understand posts here, even relatively simple ones, isn't it?

The crest right beside your handle.

This isn't worth discussing. You equated winning the LC to winning the U-21's, ignoring the significant financial benefits that make the LC hugely more important.

If Rovers had won it I think we both know you wouldn't be on here wishing to swap it with an U21 trophy.

I ask again, maybe by making it a little bit clearer still......

It's not that difficult to understand, really.
