..i just got hulk: ultimate destruction. you're the hulk (ha!) and you get to destroy everything in a free-roaming environment with mini-games and missions, basically a superhero version of GTA (or a rip-off of spider-man 2 if you prefer). it's great though, you can really put the boot in and the amount of mayhem puts a lot of other games to shame, like that crappy state of emergency. i don't think it has as much replay value as the gta stuff but it's still worth a go if youse can get it.

now for that thor game...

i'd say 'buy' if you absolutely love the hulk. i mean i love spider-man growing up but never bought any ps2 games, good as the 2nd one in particular was. so if you're an upper-echelon greenskin fan, not necessarily a die-hard, then go for it. otherwise rent if possible
