Cork Crack Shels


The PFAI recently attended the clash between two giants of Irish soccer, Shelbourne and Cork City in Turners Cross. On a balmy summers evening 'Rico’s Rebels' ended Shelbourne’s slim hopes of retaining the Championship Title and in turn took a giant leap towards capturing their first eircom League title since 1993.

Prior to the game all the talk around ‘the Cross’ was about the absence of City’s star midfielder George O’Callaghan. However Shel’s ‘Mr Consistency’ Stuart Byrne was also absent in the reds midfield and this was to prove crucial to the direction in which the three points would go.
