Looked well in excess of that but they announced a 7 k crowd a few weeks ago that was genuinely like a 6 k crowd and a few more. Thems the vagaries.

Still, it sounds good as people tend to assume its a like for like context with the more current formats.
Linfield reached the European Cup quarter-finals in 1966.

How the mighty have fallen considering tonights games so. I thought the world cup final was the only thing that happened across the entire planet in 1966!

Very impressive seeing as most thought Shams had little hope

And Ludogorets are not a big-name draw either.

And going in 3-0 down won't have driven up enthusiasm either. A really decent turnout.

That's really dissapointing, you'd imagine people would show up for the cup.
If ollie has lost the fans can he hang on ?
Could someone else fo better on the budget?

He’s there till the end of the season anyway, have to keep plugging away and hope we turn something around but I’d have my doubts,he’s changed players, coaches the whole lot and doesn’t seem to matter, there’s one constant and that’s him so he’s probably next,I love Ollie but thing’s naturally come to a end,he’s the longest serving manager in the league so we’ll see…..

Agreed. He'll leave as one of our greatest ever managers and we'll be grateful for all he's done but I think for everyone his tenure should come to an end at the end of season...no guarantee the next manager will make half the impact but I think Ollie took us as far as he can

There were a few bohs in the seats including myself, further entertainment was provided by harps maniacal manager, he’s worth the entrance fee on his own

Just over 1500 in Oriel last night according to the PA. Very dead atmosphere as you often get in early rounds of the cup. That's the smallest crowd I've seen in Oriel for a long time. Next week v Derry will be a different story with all the boyos coming back to Oriel

1576 was the official number which wasn't bad considering st's weren't valid and holiday season etc...

Next week against Derry should be(fingers crossed) a near enough full house.

If he gets Harps through a relegation play-off, then presumably he'll be back to being a hero again. Though I'm not convinced Harps would survive against Cork or Galway over two legs

He’s leaving at the end of season is the rumour I’ve heard,so he’ll be well thought off whatever way it ends for him…

The play off is staying a one legged affair aswell from what I gather…

Excellent crowd considering the various arrangements around this fixture, it might have been favoured to City as far as numbers and support, but well done to all who were there. Biggest attendance of the Cup weekend by far!

Waterford must have brought over 250+ yesterday, great away support creating a noisy cup atmosphere! Maybe over 1000+ to see the Cup holders out?
