Will Forest get a points deduction for financial mis-dealings ? ! Probably, I reckon.

Forest fans, by and large, are very happy with his performance last night. Let's hope he gets a run Saturday away to Brentford.

Someone noted that is a loan out the window. He has now played for two clubs this season. Can't play for a third?

He's 21 - so he might be exempt from that rule.

Yep. Let's hope that goal was worth it. Forest have treated him very strangely so far; you wouldn't be surprised to see him back on the bench for a while

Won't be getting a clean sheet on his debut unfortunately. US keeper Matt Turner must not be a Trump supporter with those wall building skills, shocking goalkeeping.

A lot is built on good walls.

3-2 in a game involving two Irish centre backs probably not the ideal scoreline here...

Been watching it since about the 20th minute and they’ve both actually done pretty well.

Yes they were both OK, I think it was Collins clearance header that was returned with interest for the first Forest goal and Maupay turned Omobamidele for the Brentford winner, but they were both very good pieces of attacking play more than they were defensive mistakes.

Both did well overall I think but yes, Omobamidele got rolled too easily by Maupay. He went to the ball instead of anticipating the turn. I'd say that's ring rustiness.

I'd probably agree - but it really was a beautiful turn and finish from Maupay.

Getting a lot of plaudits on the forest forum for his recent performances. Great to see him taking his opportunity. Bodes well with him, Collins and O’Shea gaining top flight experience at such relatively young ages - could have the best part of a decade together as our back three if they keep fit… https://www.forestforum.co.uk/index.....51092/page-21

Omobamidele is a good footballer and still has a lot of unfulfilled potential. He was PL standard a couple of years ago before his bad injury - the time of injury that can take some time to get back to where he was before it happened. The more he plays the better he will get and if Forest get relegated (a possibility) then he will be back in the PL over the summer.

I still think that, because of the shortage of midfielders, either himself or Collins should be moved into midfield - we have several good CBs coming through.

I think he’s better equipped to play midfield than Collins. People have said that this is a nonstarter because he hasn’t played there at club level, but McGrath and Lawrenson had never played there for their clubs either. The more recent example of a defender playing as a DM without prior experience would be Gomez at Liverpool. Similar attributes to Andy - mobile, technically proficient and good positional sense. Of course all the above had more experience before being switched, but he has the right profile and skill set to do a job in a position where we are definitely short of options.

We seem obsessed with getting defenders into midfield, how about just hoping they develop their games as defenders
    Its really not that complicated!!!

There is a very good reason for that obsession tbf. We have decent players in all sections of the pitch but we are very vulnerable in the middle.
Collins and or Andy O should be looked at in the middle, not because we want to, but we kind of have too. Josh Cullen needs a good footballer beside him. Collins and Andy O might not work but we know the others aren't working. If we do nothing, then our only hope is a natural midfield player landing on our lap and that seems unlikely at the moment.

As the other posters have said it's worked before.
