I'm sure he won't want me defending him but really this whinging about the length of the season is embarrassing because you are CURRENTLY off the pace. If the fai had announced in Jan we were playing an 18 game season to move to an all Ireland league we all would have got on with it and the winner would win it over 18 games. If we lose the league from here I won't be whinging about the length of the season I will be giving out to our players for not doing the business. Embarrassing stuff
Ah there is some logic to not liking the shortened season. Even at 9 points down with a full season it is yer own hands to reel a team in and pressure them. Once points were dropped v St Pats in an 18 game season we were relying on others. Rovers have shown real grit to keep winning and thats what it takes regardless of the number of games. Dont like it, accept it, and would love to be winding up the likes of PC. Good for the goose good for the gander ;p
"Usual suspects" was a term I used that you seem very eager to identify with
It was your obsession with your "own logic" that I referenced.
Numpty? Name calling seems to come easy to you ps when you perceive the slightest challenge to your ego
If Rovers lose the league from here, it would be closer to humiliating that embarrassing, but that is very improbable. Rovers are likely to be deserved champions with a decent margin by the seasons end.
Nevertheless it is excruciatingly obvious that the shortened and truncated season diminishes the prestige of the achievement. That is no reflection on you, your fellow Rovers fans, Bradser or anyone else
Losing our next two matches would throw the league open and is easy to see happening, Waterford are flying and dundalk are dundalk.
I love that u think it's diminished, makes it even sweeter.
It's almost like it wasn't even a corner situation.
I sincerely hope rovers keep going and we get to listen to this whinging until next Feb.
You are worrying too much sbgawa, fear of a worst case scenario though is embeded in all LoI fans. I really hope things get back to normal and a new season underway by Feb. Wounded animal and all that. How about if Rovers throw away this title a Dundalk jersey must be worn!? Its about as likely as Rovers hammering AC Milan!
Eh, right so.
I think you're losing it, to be honest.
If you disagree with any of my logic, I'd encourage you to engage in discussion on what is, after all, a discussion board.
Have a bit of compassion Stu, these are difficult times for Ez . People going through trauma often lash out
Jays sb - there's "difficult times" and there's being one spaceship short of a mypost!
No it doesn't. Only in your mind.
There isn't a fan of a team on here who wouldn't be very happy to be crowned Premier Division champions this season. That's the start and end of it.
The only thing excruciating is that you're continually digging a hole for yourself on this issue. Let it go man, for God's sake.
So the disruption hasnt negatively impacted things at all? Apart from both Rovers, and with irked Dundalk fans aside; Everyone would be happy to be crowned champions for sure, but the more games that get played the more likely teams with quality come to the fore. Thatprobably would have been Rovers anyway but that questions mark is there even if mainly for those who feel hard done by. I'd be pretty sure that if Dundalk were storming to this sprint of a league that there would be an odd Rovers fan that would pose the question, especially less head to head games for recovery. I dont see it as unreasonable thinking, or that it is a slight on the champions. More just consideration of the realities of this unprecedented season.
Any league campaign where everyone plays each other home and away is perfectly legit.
#NeverStopNotGivingUp
Hey ain't that the truth - I count myself and all other fans of the current champions in that group
I was delighted when we won even 2 team competitions also
You probably didn't notice but I let it go (prospects of retaining the title) quite some time ago
I don't think anyone actually said differently.
The point being made is fairly clear to those who want to understand it or accept it
Rovers will amost certainly end up being deserved champions, albeit with an asterisk
He's not asking u to let go of Winning the title just whinging about the unfairness of it all, but I think u know that.
