Israeli soccer players do not make government policy so why are people are going to protest against them? Also, the Irish fans who went to the game in Israel a few months were treated extremely well with a number of them saying it was their best away trip ever. Also, did any Israelis at that game protest against any of Ireland's policies e.g. the opening of Shannon Airport to the US war planes on their way to bomb Iraq? Or maybe that has nothing to do with sport.
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

When they play that Israeli national anthem tomorrow politics is brought into sport.

Ignore the muppets and show peaceful support for the Palestinians tomorrow.
Then wallop the feckers in the game.
Its ******s like you that have tickets for tomorrows match that will be taking them away from supporters who are just interested in supporting their own country unconditionally.

I would've thought the Israelis would be quite happy about that - .As for rgumentative - chief, if you really want to help the Palestinians - go and live with them!!!

I've no time for the Israeli state but I'll keep quiet during their anthem. It would be a shame if we were to sink as low as some England fans who always boo opposition anthems. I'd boo Hunter though...

Ok, sorry, I just got pi$$ed off coz of all the other people that had been expressing rather strong opinions for protests on other threads. Shouldn't have taken it out on you. I guess it's like my 1 moment of madness costing me a red card...

    Agree with all sentiments expressed.

Sez it all. We should organise an "anti-No vote in Europe" protest for when the French come. I'm not taking all this "No on Europe" crap after all it's done for our farmers & our roads...

The Arab-Israeli conflict is significantly more complexe than your trite post would suggest. There's blame apportionable to both sides. Protesting at the game, however, will do no good and will merely serve to polarize the crowd.

For the record, I'll be sitting in the Israeli fan section proudly wearing my Ireland jersey.

I've always wondered why this guy gets coverage, he represents no one I know and has no mandate in my view. Perhaps someone from the ROISSC should contact newstalk and other media to point this out.

    Israeli/Palestinian Conflict

The opinions of people are based on that they read or listen to on the media. No one has come on and said that they lived in the region. I'm sure our friends from Israel or Palestine could come on board on this site and post some facts on the situation.

I suspected that much of the abuse and dogma seen on this thread was created by Alan H. as a diversionary tactic to steer supporters away from the topic "hunter = muppet". Then again conspiracy theorists usually credit the alleged conspirator/s with having too much organizational efficiency and imagination.
As an exile the very small bits and pieces of AH that I have been exposed to, do confirm your sentiments.
If it doesn't interfere too much with your pre match preparations,
you seem to need to get a load that is Alan H off your chest.
Is he the spokesperson for a supporters group? Without being personal, could you explain in a few words why you think he is a gobsh..e.
Is he self appointed? or do thousands of the green army chant "there is only one AH"? Is he more or less popular than an off form Ian Harte.
