    Hangover Food...

Meant to post this after the weekend but forgot and the 12 th man just reminded me there with his post.

Many people, like myself, crave a greasy fry-up the morning after a session.
I sometimes find though, that they make me feel worse when I'm finished.
Honeydew Melon or something would probably be better but I just don't crave it.

If I'm in my own house the morning after, I like to whip up, what I call, Scramlette.
Heat some oil in a pan.
Gently fry some chopped onion, chopped bacon and chopped mushrooms.
Beat some eggs with a little seasoning and add to the mix.
    Add some halved cherry tomatoes.
Stir the mix together so that it "scrambles".

You can put whatever you like in it, of course.
I find it fills the gap and is easy to eat.

What do others find works a treat when you're tender from a night on the sauce?

burger and chips from the cafe, but somethmes it does make you feel worse.

I actually like a warm tuna bagguette and coke. Works for me

    failing that, more beer

Boxty with a fried egg (runny yolk) and loads of slices of (Cully's) batch bread

Reheated onion bargees and an ice cold can of coke

    Sausage and Egg McMuffins

If I had to pick one out of the list, it would be the ice cold can of coke...

Us men have to know how to feed ourselves since women these days can't "cook" something that doesn't have microwave instructions on the pack.

There's no doubt that sleep is important.
I was reading somewhere that you don't go through all the normal phases of sleep when you're drunk.

My boss swears by that blue powerade. Trying to get us all hooked on it, but im not convinced. Coke if the hangover is really bad, if not, then I just cain the water cooler at work, drinking as much as possible

Tuna melt from the cafe here works brilliantly

Hangover drinks - this varies for me, I go through phases. I used to swear by the oul lucozade (original) but went of it. Then I went through a Yazoo Banana milk phase and this can really settle the stomach. But the best is coke - preferably flat. I used to work with a guy who used to open a bottle of coke before bed when he'd been drinking so it would be nice and flat in the morning!

Agree with whats been said about the Fry. It can make you or break you. I like a good sausage sandwich. Has to be a good sausage though - no feckin Richmonds

I like a fried egg sandwich too but the day after my stag night, my mate made me one and put tomato sauce on it - i vomited on the spot

Which brings me to the red/brown sauce divide. I can't understand how anyone can put Ketchup on their breakfast. Has to be Brown for me, preferably Chef. If you're having a fry, put a little bit on each corner of the plate - it mixes into everything great that way. Mmm

A Chicken Breast Sandwich and Garlic cheese chips from Supermacs before you go to bed, a pint of water in the morning and a good man to look after you for the rest of the day always works for me

A nice Ice-Cream cone is lovely in the morning too!

    Ah, my long lost brother.

I put mayo on everything but the old HP or Chef does the trick for breakfast or a bacon rambo.

Actually, I've just remembered, YR was the brown sauce we used at home. Is that still on sale?

YR? Whats that? Having not been brought up in Ireland I might have missed it. I do pride myself on my knowledge of Irish foodstuffs though! Have been known to travel miles to get my hands on a bottle of Chef sauce (not readily available in England)

Yep, Mayo is a good breakfast supplement if the brown sauce isn't available.

Living in Glasgow now, I've been introduced to the square sausage (or Lorne sausage to give it its proper title) Have to say I'm not its greatest fan. Can be gristly which is not what you need when you have a hangover.

Another breakfast argument that me and the wife have is over bacon fat. I like a bacon sandwich which good crispy fat. She prefers to trim, which I think is missing out. Its not a calorie issue, she just hates it. Any opinions

Mayo? On a fry? Feckin weirdo's. Next you'll be saying it's a good edition to a burger (the whole reason why Supermacs are crap).

Nothing for breakfast and then nice salty soup about lunchtime, anyflavour as long as there is loads of salt usually does the trick for me.

Supermacs is the nicest fast-food you can get FACT
Ketchup is just wrong and it stinks so bad...

Mayo is the much better option

Best one I've ever had was 20 chicken nuggets from Maccys D's (can;t afford that every sunday morning however!)

Usually a greasy fry up does it for me with loads of red sauce!

I wouldn't have Mayo on a Fry, but its definitely good on a bacon sandwich
