    Lansdowne Road Sign on Ebay???

During my adventures on ebay collecting Irish football memorabilia, signed and player worn shirts etc, etc.... I came accross this..

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

It looks like the real thing and the seller said she found it in the garage of the house she moved into. She understood that the previous owners son was a big Celtic and Ireland fan and ''aquired'' the sign. Just wondering what people thought about it.???I'm questioning my morals....

wouldn't know whether it was an original or not, though there are plenty of Lansdowne Roads the length and breadth of the UK let alone Ireland (seller is based in Scotland).

    Whats the celtic FC connection??????
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

    whats the celtic connection? hehe

anyway..it doesn't look like a dublin st sign. even the older ones had the old "4" or "6" or whatever bit of dublin you were in on them. even the uber-posh ones.

they would have looked like this

this is a fraud pure and simple

There's no Irish on it, looks like it's from somewhere else.

Probably the Lansdowne Rd, just off the A79 near Prestwick Airport, which is very near where the seller lives.

Its amazing what you can do with only a ladder and a screwdriver!

It's exactly the same sign as the ones that used to be round my way before the local council decided to get all corporate and colour coded and put their logo on and have the writing in colours depending on the town or village. (I'm sure you remember these Junior when living round here). Outside the big cities I'd say they are all the same, and the fact the seller is based in the UK says this is so. This is, unforunately, some chancer trying to flog off a road sign with reference to our national stadium. Thankfully, no one has fallen for it.
This is the cooooooooooooolest footy forum I've ever seen!
